Cherie Ditmer

About Me

Hi there! I'm Cherie and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 4 years of experience. My experience includes in home and community based therapy, schools, and PHP/IOP. I've worked with a multitude of diagnoses from depression, anxiety, trauma, self-harm, personality disorders, and more. I have an abundance of experience with adjustment disorders, family conflict, life changes, and group and individual therapy. I am a military spouse who also enjoys working with the military population as this lifestyle can be stressful and quite the constant adjustment on it's own!

My counseling style is very relaxed and eclectic, as I use many different therapeutic approaches, primarily client-centered. I base my approach off my clients specific needs. I'm warm, compassionate, and friendly. I also like to think of myself as very down to earth and real, not robotic or "by the book." Therapy can often be intimidating and scary at times, and I work hard to assure that I provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere for my clients and their families. I believe in respect, compassion, and understanding. I'm a firm believer in listening to hear and understand, not just to respond.

It takes great courage to seek support and I'm thrilled that you've taken this first step towards a happier and more fulfilling life! When you're ready, I'll be here to encourage, motivate, and help guide you in the direction you're seeking. I look forward to working with you!

Cherie is attentive, personable, supportive and friendly. I like that she asked me what are my modes of communication and what are my needs. Still building a relationship so can’t speak to how effective therapy has been with Cherie, but I can say, it’s off to a great start.

I am new to therapy and counseling, and Cherie Ditmer has been the best guide into this. She is respectful, caring, and so very helpful while we tackle my problems and helps me grow through the anxiety and depression.
