About Me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Florida and have been practicing for six years. I graduated from Florida State University in 2014. I have worked in a variety of settings and with a diverse range of clients in my time as a social worker. I have experience working with children and their families, especially as it relates to trauma, abuse, and family relationship dynamics. I've worked as a Clinical Director in community mental health, where I worked with diagnoses that range from depression and anxiety to schizophrenia. I also worked alongside physicians in what's called a patient-centered medical home. In this role, I worked with clients as young as 5 and as old as 92. In addition to my clinical experience, I also teach at the University-level, which affords me the opportunity to stay up-to-date on the most recent advancements in clinical practice.

My expertise in in the realm of depression, anxiety, trauma (PTSD), gender and sexuality, and relationship difficulties. My approach relies on a strong therapeutic alliance and I work alongside my clients to produce positive outcomes and lasting change. I have been providing telehealth therapy for well over one year and as a result, I am very familiar with all of the awkwardness and nuance of virtual therapy.

My counseling style is compassionate, collaborative, and focused. I frequently infuse humor and laughter into the therapeutic process as a way to help us better deal with difficult subjects. I pride myself in being a patent mental health provider that will meet you where you are and work with you to set realistic and reasonable goals for treatment. My approach combines aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solutions Focused Therapy, Gestalt Theory, and Psychodynamic counseling. I do not use a cookie-cutter approach to treatment and when we work together you can be assured that you will have my undivided attention and expertise.

It's hard to open up and share very intimate parts of ourselves, but the benefits outweigh the risks. I've seen a lot of brave people do really amazing work in therapy and I'm thankful for having the opportunity to be a small part of their lives. If you're ready to take the leap into counseling, I am here to work with and support you. I take my job seriously and honor the time you choose to share with me.

I invite you to reach out with questions you might have and I look forward to having the opportunity to work together!
