About Me

I believe that no one should have to live with crippling anxiety, depression, faced with previous traumatic events or any mental health issues. I want to help guide you through whatever you personally may be experiencing and help you achieve your most successful, mentally healthy and authentic self. I am here to support and empower you.

I am a licensed professional counselor in Texas with about 8 years of experience working as a counselor and advocate. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, impulsivity, LGBTQ+ concerns, family issues, trauma, PTSD, substance abuse, grief and loss, anger management, etc. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse. I have worked with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, gun shot victims, and other traumatic experiences.

I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, client-centered therapy and motivational interviewing. I also believe and practice mindfulness and meditation as calming tools and coping skills. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. I believe that everyone is the expert in their own lives and about their situation. I want to work with you to devise a treatment plan specific to your situation and help you achieve your personal goals. In order to have a successful therapeutic relationship I am a friendly professional who is willing to challenge existing thought processes and patterns to push you out of your comfort zone and into your brightest potential.

I look forward to working with you!

A little on the younger side, Clarissa Cannon can be very approachable for the people who mostly use this app. She has an understanding demeanor but also doesn't shy away from the necessary work. Be ready to laugh and cry, because building a relationship with a person like her and digging deep is what therapy should be
