About Me

My name is Denise Fisher and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Tennessee and Virginia. I am also certified through the National Board of Certified Counselors. I have over 20 years of experience working with children, teens and adults in community based programs and 12 years experience working in the field of mental health. Counseling individuals and groups, including families and work groups has provided me with the opportunity to encounter a broad range of situations, including depression, anxiety, life changes, relationship issues, coping with grief and loss, trauma and stress.

I believe that, as individuals, resolving life challenges requires a personal approach. Meeting people, where they are, is an essential focus of working through difficulties and through a person-centered and individualized approach, I seek to provide support, guidance and honest feedback. My therapeutic approach is tailored to meet the needs of each individual with a strong focus on relationship and connection.

Reaching out to ask for help can be difficult, but if you are looking for someone to walk alongside you and help find a fresh perspective, I welcome the opportunity of taking that journey with you.

I greatly appreciate her flexibility. She has provided me good resources for coping with everything going on. I’m not sure how I would have made it through the last few months without her.

I have found Denise to a warm, friendly, and caring person to communicate with and share my concerns. She encourages me to “stay in the game”, at times when I just want to give up. Everyone needs someone who believes in them and someone they can lean on when the going gets tough. I believe Denise has helped me weather through otherwise hopeless situations.

Denise is kind and understanding - I had a bad experience with my previous therapist that I saw in person, and Denise's warmth and guidance has helped me a lot. She reaches out if it has been a few days since I have written, and she always has something supportive to say.
