I am a Clinical Psychologist (PsyD) and Nutritional Therapist. I am licensed in California and I have been providing therapy since 1996.
I have experience working in residential and outpatient settings and in my own private practice with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting, teen concerns, life transitions, and a wide range of challenges, including grief/loss, trauma, abuse, anger management, crisis and adjustment issues.
I mostly tend to draw from the person-centered approach when in a therapeutic relationship with my clients. This means that I make consistent efforts to meet each client "where they are" and to serve as a catalyst to each individual who is progressing through their unique process of self-discovery and self-identification.
I also use such modalities as Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Guided Meditation and Mindfulness.
I also utilize humanistic, existential, experiential and narrative approaches and solution-focused therapy. I enjoy and feel honored to be a part of someone’s personal experiences, as our problems and feelings are unique and yet we are all one and together.
I like to approach my sessions – as a team, addressing challenges together to become free from judgment, criticism, and pain; to change our negative perceptions that do not serve us well; and to live a joyful and peaceful life.
For my professional growth, I continuously read related literature, keep myself up to date with the ethical and legal guidelines in the field, and the latest research, and attend conferences and trainings.
I believe in creating a space where we can have difficult conversations, work on resolving issues and collaborate on treatment plans that are tailored to your personal needs and experiences. It takes a lot of courage and motivation to reach out for additional support.
I am here for you and thank you for trusting me with your utmost personal dilemmas.
I look forward to working with you!

Psychologist #PSY19575 (Expires: 2021-07-31)
Dr. Purcell was always patient during sessions and gave different approaches to help what I was feeling. She really puts in the time to understand each factor and always makes sure to check in when possible. She doesn’t talk down to patients instead a lifts them up and encourages them to see a new light everyday!
I’ve been with Dr. Purcell for a few months (since the start of COVID-19 actually) and she’s helped me so much in dealing with my anxiety, believing in my self-worth and goal setting. I appreciate her openness and guidance through my journey in therapy.
Dr. Purcell is great!
I’ve had 3 therapists before Dr. Purcell and I have to say after 3 months I have grown more with her than all 3 of them together. She doesn’t sugar coat what really needs to get done and is very knowledgeable on everything I’ve asked about. I honestly wish I had her as my therapist years ago.
Dr Purcell is my first counseling experience and I think she’s very understanding and helpful to face the problems logically and professionally.
Dr. Purcell is everything I have been looking for in a therapist. She is extremely knowledgeable and professional, in addition to being kind and compassionate. Her expertise spans beyond mental health and into nutrition, offering a wholistic diagnosis of well-being. She offers tangible tools so that I feel empowered to make a difference in my own life, and in the short amount of time I've been working with her I've already seen such a big difference in the way I think. I would highly recommend Dr. Purcell!
Dr. Purcell has been super helpful during my recovery. I couldn’t imagine therapy with anyone else. I look forward to our sessions together.
Dr. Purcell is awesome!!! Finally someone who understands me.
Dr. Purcell made me feel see and heard throughout our sessions together and always provided effective feedback. Her mind-body approach was very effective and I'm really grateful for the tools she taught me. I've decided to step away from the platform for financial reasons, but will certainly look up Dr. Purcell again if I feel the need to seek out counseling again!
Really helpful and supportive. I would definitely recommend to friends and family.
Dr. Purcell has been a great help to me. She is very responsive to my issues and takes a very proactive approach to helping me both in understanding what the source my issues might be and in offering me a wide variety of tools to work on them.
