I am a Licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Health, Board Certified with the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC), who has been working with children & families in various roles for the past 13 years. Over the years I've had the opportunity to work as an Outpatient therapist, Assessment & Referral Counselor, Crises Assessor, Clinical Screener, Behavior Specialist Consultant, Mobile Therapist, Adjunct Teacher, Group Facilitator, Parent Educator, as well as leadership roles within the Human Service Field. All of my experiences have afforded me an understanding for some of the challenges people face with relationships, child-rearing and different life circumstances that cause an imbalance within their emotions that impact their mind, body and spirit.
My counseling approach varies based on the need of the person and is primarily from a cognitive behavioral (thought process) perspective that is person centered and strength based, setting obtainable goals with the client to decrease the level of distress and promote emotional well-being leading to change.

A very helpful instructor that helps me with my mental daily challenges, but also with personal ambitions as well.
I look forward to the sessions with Ms. Corbett. It is very refreshing to get insight and perspective from outside of my circle. My only regret is that I did not reach out sooner.
Doris has been nothing but great. She is understanding and a great match for me. She keeps some on track when I need reminders about life goals. She kind and down to earth while still remaining professional. Doris is jus great overall.
Great listener, and very knowledgeable. I feel very comfortable talking to her.
