Dr. Eileen Norton

(Psy.D.)

About Me

When someone comes to me, my first priority is helping them to get unstuck and out of pain. Then we work on what caused the situation in the first place. Often it's about learning skills and techniques to create the love and life you really want to have.

Watching people heal, grow and realize their own potential, is why I do this. And I'm all about results. Over the last 18 years in my psychology work, I heard over and over again that people were getting where they wanted to be, way faster and with less distress than they could have imagined. When I worked with insurance companies, the stats were impressive, as up to 90% of people who worked with me--stayed with me. And you know you'd only stay if you were getting results.

As I often say in my first session, my goal is to get you to leave me. How it works is I teach you. You learn and pass along what you got. The result is a world that's happier for all of us. The way we do this is with a combination of cognitive behavioral and spiritual (not religious) psychology techniques. In the end, it is all an inside job. When you get to where you want to be inside, the external world falls right into line.

I've worked with hundreds and hundreds of people who were depressed, anxious, dealing with loss, struggling in relationships and with finding ways to motivate themselves and build their self-esteem. And while everyone is different, I've got such a warehouse of tools at this point--I seem to be able to offer something that gets things unstuck and that really works. So please know, you don't have to know how to make the changes you want. But you do have to be willing. And if you are, let's work together and get you where you want to be.

Dr. Norton has helped me tremendously with my self confidence and self-kindness. She responds in a very timely manner and is always sweet and professional. I’ve been living under a fog of depression for several years and working with her has lifted that heaviness. While I still have problems, living without that gloom hanging over me has been amazing. I feel more confident about solving whatever problem comes my way. She has equipped me with tools to take care of myself better than before and I will carry these lessons throughout my life. Thank you, Dr. Norton!

I appreciate her flexibility in my response time. She helps me keep on track and yet doesn't pressure me when I am overwhelmed or don't feel like talking.

Dr. Norton has such an amazing way about how she helps me to "peel the layers" and get to what is really the root of the problem. I've seen therapists in person and this has been no where near as helpful as BetterHelp and Dr .Norton has been for me. Dr. Norton is an expert in her field. The BetterHelp counseling is the BEST thing I have ever decided to do.

One year ago I reached a point in my life where I knew I had to reach out and seek help. I found BetterHelp and was matched with Dr. Eileen Norton. Right away she listened, spoke truth into my life and pointed me in the direction of additional resources to help me. Through her personal approach and words of wisdom, she helped guide me down a path on which I was ultimately able to change my life. I'm so thankful for her time spent on video sessions, calls, and chats. I highly recommend Dr. Norton to everyone.

Dr Norton is so very knowledgeable in so many areas, always respectful and has a delightful sense of humor. She recognizes and understands the hard work involved in self exploration and how painful and confusing it can be at times. She is there to support, guide and assist you through it - always doing do so with kindness, compassion and understanding. And lots and lots of patience. Dr. Norton has allowed me to experience what it feels like to trust someone with my deepest thoughts and feelings and what it feels like to be completely vulnerable in that space and leave it not feeling weak, judged or embarrassed but incredibly strong and empowered. Dr. Norton always leads me to a better perspective and to a level of awareness that is enlightening and at times staggering in its simplicity. I look forward to continuing my work with Dr. Norton- learning new things about myself and life and to growing into a better Me.

Initially I used the texting format only when I probably should have scheduled time for AV call. Dr. Norton is supportive and flexible with my sporadic text responses. I think the audio calls with texts in between are a great combination for me and I feel comfortable with Dr. Norton’s capability.
