About Me

I believe in the power of a positive and healthy therapeutic relationship, that serves as the foundation for the change a client wishes to achieve. My primary focus is building the trust and rapport that each client deserves so they have the confidence that their time spent with me is worth their effort. Further, I believe in creating a safe and caring environment where we can work together to create the change you wish to see. Each conversation and appointment is tailored to fit the needs and the personality of each individual client. Clients can expect to never feel judgement, and to feel heard, supported, cared for, and understood during each discussion.
Because each individual is different and has different needs, I use an eclectic approach to counseling so that each client receives the support that benefits their personality and needs. Approaches to treatment often include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered, and Solution-Focused. I have extensive training and experience in parenting, attachment, and family needs.
I am a graduate of Xavier University where I earned a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Previously, I graduated from Miami University where I received a bachelor's degrees in Psychology and a double minor in Child Studies and Management and Leadership. I have worked through an agency providing individual and family therapy, and in private practice offering family, attachment, and individual therapies. I have also worked with groups experiencing grief/loss and with groups consisting of at-risk populations, and assisted in research studying child-parent attachment.

Emily is really great! Although we are only at just a few sessions, our conversations have helped tremendously! She always actively listens and provides constructive feed back for things that can help resolve the issue. She is a pleasure to work with!
