I enjoy working with a variety of people including individuals, children, couples, families, and groups. A special interest of mine is helping clients learn effective ways of coping with various forms of loss and life transitions that may be related to family, career, or health. In my practice, I focus on holistic health and overall wellbeing. I believe that exercise, nutrition, sleep, and other healthy lifestyle choices can be powerful influences in regulating mood, emotion, and are valuable contributors to better overall mental health.
My work is further dedicated to helping to emerge a personal narrative that is more realistic, positive, and empowering. I work from the cognitive-behavioral approach and am goal oriented in my practice. I am enthusiastic in helping you work toward your individual goals!
I earned my Bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of Minnesota in 2005, Masterâ€™s degree in Counseling and Psychological Services from Saint Marys University in 2009, and Ph.D. in Advanced Studies in Human Behavior at Capella University. I teach college-level Psychology courses I am also a certified in Pilates, Yoga, and group fitness.
My free time consists of spending time with family and friends, writing, reading, and staying as active and outdoors as much as possible.
