About Me

I am a Clinically Licensed Social Worker with over 10 years of experience working within a range of settings including both inpatient and outpatient mental health, home healthcare services, crisis intervention, domestic violence and trauma, shelter services and most currently with our Veteran population. I have worked with people regarding their concerns with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, trauma, relationships, adjustment, grief and parenting to name a few.

I believe that the best place to start in a therapeutic relationship is to meet you where you are. Everyone has their own unique experience and I believe you are the expert on you. I use a solution-focused, strengths-based approach to do this. I will always treat you with respect and sensitivity. Therapeutic interventions I use include Cognitive-Behavioral (CBT), mindfulness, motivational interviewing and Dialectical-Behavioral (DBT) therapies.

I view my overall biggest role is to know what your goals are and serve as a guide to help you find your way over the bumps that have, and do come up along the way. I look forward to working with you on your journey!

Being involved in counseling with this organization and my counselor in particular has given me an avenue of expression that I greatly needed. I feel listened to and respected. The suggestions and comments that I get from my counselor are always on point and in response to questions I have asked. I don’t feel like a generic number on a list. I feel like I am being cared for in a very respectful and beneficial way.

Erica has completely changed the course of my life by alerting me to the possibility of ADHD. My diagnosis has also helped me encourage other members of my family to seek help for ADHD, as it is genetic. My 65 year old mother has recently been to the psychiatrist as well and was also diagnosed. She now understands herself and her past so much better. As do I. We are getting the help we need finally after so many years left undiagnosed. Thank you Erica for your precious insight and ever patient and kind words.

I wrote a Facebook post with a link to better help telling people that are avenues to get help even if they’re quarantined because my therapist is so amazing.

Erica has been truly amazing! What I appreciate most is her ability to validate my feelings which creates a safe environment for me to open up to her about everything I am faced with. Erica offers respectful suggestions and I am super glad I picked her. I know I have alot more work to do which is primarily on me, however I trust it will go well with Erica by my side.

Erica is a huge help and has helped me a ton in taking those first few small, but albeit, scariest steps towards my goals.

Erica and I started talking to each other in April. From the start she made it clear that she's here to help me. I needed a place to talk about life issues. BetterHelp gave me that, but importantly, it put me in touch with Erica, who has done so much to help me, to guide me. I'm so grateful for her counsel. While BetterHelp is online, and Erica and I haven't met, I thank her for her help. I know this review is longer than most, but it's meant most sincerely. I hope Erica Hoskins will see it and know my gratitude.

Erica is very attentive, kind, compassionate and helpful in dealing with common life struggles, as well as mental health issues, as I work to overcome them. She not only provides a listening ear but also useful tools and strategies for overcoming problems and learning to be my best self.
