I've been through some challenges in life that have created a lot of opportunity for me to gain life experience as well as learning that each individual holds the key to their own solutions. This is the foundation of my practice. I meet you where you are in your life and your motivation level for change, and I walk right along side you to help you find the right answer for you.
I am a graduate of Wayne State University and a Licensed Master Social Worker in the State of Michigan specializing in individual, couples and family therapy.
Currently I am serving as private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. Among my areas of expertise are addictions, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, depression, codependency, and adjustment disorders.
As an interactive, solution-focused therapist, my therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. I integrate complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, I work with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
Within the past six months, my husband and I moved to our dream home in a small town in Northern Macomb County. It is in a rural setting and two of our three kids and our four dogs (three English Setters and one Mini-Dachshund) are enjoying it with us. We have a ball just spending time out in the yard and watching our dogs play in the pond. Country living may not be for everyone, but it sure is for us! We have three children who are college age and actively living their own independent lives. I own a private practice in Clinton Township, Michigan where I average anywhere from 25 to 30 in-office clients per week and I love to help people through their life challenges. It is so rewarding to have someone complete their session and leave feeling much better than when they come through the door.

Heather is very caring and compassionate.
Heather has been very helpful to me! She's great at listening, validating, and problem-solving. She's helped me to gain insight into issues in my life and that is invaluable.
I've only had a few sessions but the understanding and commitment that I have received is more than I expected and is greatly appreciated. My confidence has improved and I trust and value Heather's input.
She's very helpful on my behalf and hope for the future that Heather and I would run across each other in the future to have a glass of wine together. Thank you!
I've been in in person counseling for depression with a different counselor for about a year and in 2 weeks with Heather I've made more progress than with my other counselor!
My husband and I have only had a few sessions with Heather but would highly recommend her. She is very fair and has offered more help in these few sessions than other counselors we have talked with before.
