About Me

Hi there! My name is Holly Rice and I am a licensed professional counselor. I am looking forward to working with you.
I have been a licensed professional counselor for 9 years now and reside in the state of Missouri. Prior to becoming a LPC, I worked in medical research and writing for over 20 years – in areas such as cardiovascular, physical therapy, allergy and asthma, and neurodevelopmental disorders (including a stint as a medical writer at the National Institute of Mental Health).
I tend to mold my therapeutic approach based on each individual’s needs. My preferred methodologies are motivational interviewing, person-centered therapy and cognitive-behavioral therapy. I have a lot of experience in working with individuals with chronic pain and illness, individuals with anxiety and depression and those who just need some support to help ease the stresses of every day life.
For those individuals with Chronic pain and illness, I have developed my own approach to helping you by using my PAINN approach (Perception, Attitude, Insight, Nutrition and Nurturing). I myself have chronic pain and am able to successful work full time as well as ride and care for two horses and an elderly mother. I understand!!
Let’s talk and see how I can help you.

I recommend Better Help to everyone I know, including my psychiatrist. Being able to "go to therapy" on my laptop with an amazing therapist who supports and understands me is incredibly helpful. I am happier and more confident than I have been in my adult life. . . or perhaps ever. Thank you Better Help!

Tbh I was a bit doubtful about this process at first but it was the best decision I made for my recovery. She is non judgemental, compassionate and practical. She knows when to give advice and when to listen. She is helping me become a more confident person.
