About Me

I am a California licensed marriage and family therapist. I became a psychotherapist because of the positive experiences I had in my own therapy. I enjoyed the process of change and made the decision to switch careers in 2002 from the business and technology world to the counseling world. Having been on both sides of the fence allows me to meet my clients with both empathy and respect—it takes a lot of courage to face our problems, a fact for which I have great appreciation.

I take a common sense approach to diagnosis and treatment. I am trained in the Gottman Method but I also have extensive training in other modalities such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and Mindfulness. This allows me to meet you at the place you are in a fashion that is comfortable and effective. I focus on creating an environment that reflects friendliness, effective listening and direct feedback, a sense of humor, a helpful, non-judgmental manner, and I utilize feedback from my clients to ensure I’m being as on-point as possible.
