Aloha, my name is Jeannie and I am a licensed mental health therapist in Nebraska. I enjoy helping clients walking through transition. I also work with those who feel "stuck" in life and could use some help creating practical goals to move forward.
I believe healing happens in authentic relationship. This means that I strive to be fully present with my clients and work to help them feel comfortable enough to be fully present with me, as well. I recognize that the first step to a better life is often the most difficult. I help my clients with that first step and the path that follows. Together, we develop individualized strategies that allow and promote forward movement.
I completed my master's degree in counseling at Denver Seminary. I also have a bachelor's degree in religion, which makes me uniquely qualified to combine spiritual and clinical insights in a way that anyone can understand. While I specialize in trauma work, anxiety, and somatic disorders, I am also trained in Strengths Coaching. This helps me identify behavioral patterns that point to a client's "go to" responses. These point us to areas of current and potential strength and internal resources. My professional experience includes counseling and management in the field of mental health, including personal coaching, working with mild to severe mental health issues, survivors of ongoing abuse (including human trafficking), business and individual coaching, and providing trauma education to community organizations. I welcome the opportunity to fight beside you to make a difference in yourself - and the world.
Update: I am continuing to take new clients during the COVID-19 Crisis but I am limited video services to existing clients only. Now that my entire client load is online, I need to begin to limit me screen time. I am happy to do chat sessions (more freedom to look away) and phone sessions to new clients. If you are wanting video sessions, at this time, please consider one of our other fabulous Better Help counselors.

Jeannie is a kind and compassionate person who accepts you for who and where you are while collaborating WITH you to create steps that will lead to positive changes.
I always enjoy getting messages from Jeannie. Whenever I am getting anxiety instead of going over and over again (ok well after going over it again and again) in my head I just send a message and it helps me a lot. She is very caring and listens.
Jeannie was so attentive to finding, focusing, and helping me take steps to achieve MY goals. She is not judgmental or suggestive. She encourages you and guides you to a way to help yourself.
Jeannie has been instrumental in helping me achieve my goals! I highly recommend her.
Shes an amazing person always there to listen to me to deal with how I'm feeling and checks on me when shes thinks I'm having a harder time. She makes sure I'm always having her there for me.
Jeannie has a great approach with helping you see the other side of the dark and getting you to think outside of things. She makes me feel good about trying new things to build up my confidence and to work with current problems. It is a delight to talk with her.
Jeannie helped open my eyes to something that I was not able to see through my own stubbornness. She has helped me reframe my way of thinking which has been essential in my ability to move past a situation that wasn't right for me. She's kind, understanding, and has a gentle way of examining all possible sides of a story. Would highly recommend!
Jeannie H was the therapist assigned to me when I reached out for help. From the beginning she was very attentive, compassionate, and patient as I explained the dynamics of what brought me to the online counseling forum. Her feedback was instantaneous which let me know that I was a priority for her during our online conversations together. Her level of expertise was and is greatly appreciated by me as what was concerning for me was a situation regarding my youngest child and a possible mental disorder so her help allowed me the ability to find clarity, understanding, and most importantly stop blaming myself.
I am so honored and excited to be working with Jeannie! She's a wonderful person, a compassionate counselor, and an incredible woman of faith. I'm so lucky to have been paired with her. She listens intently to all of my concerns - which are many - and she always has constructive feedback. Highly recommend her!
I had financial difficulties and had to break from the sessions but Jeannie stayed in touch even when I was no signed on and her message let me know I was not alone and had a safe space to come back to.
Jeannie is a very sweet person who cuts to the chase. She is very intelligent and knows what she’s doing. She will find out what’s best for you and she listens to what you want. Jeannie is very supportive and wants to see you improve in whatever aspect you wish to improve upon. She is very easy to talk to and she’s funny too! I am so glad I was paired with her!
Jeannie has been such a supporter and help pushing me and helping me find a better me and help me find a better understanding about issues and how to handle them.
I just started talking but am satisfied so far.
She is great! Very gifted/talented with just a few messages she has a lot of good insight. It's like she knows how to cut off the fat of my situation and get straight to the meat is the best way I can put it. The first few weeks there is a lot of backstory on my end so I would think that it would be slow going but she is very efficient and can give me actions goals or ideas from day 1! Very grateful for this program and her. I am working through the lowest point I have ever been so this has literally been a life saver for me.
