I am a licensed counselor with several years of experience working as a psycho-counselor and life/wellness coach. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems and career challenges. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse.
My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. Having experienced my own emotional and mental health struggles, I can fully appreciate and empathize with what my clients are going through. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic and rational-emotive counseling. Having a background in massage therapy, yoga and mediation, I also use a holistic approach when working with clients- addressing the mind, body and spirit/soul.
I feel that everyone is worthy and deserving of a happy and fulfilling life, but often times, our inner dialogue and life experiences make us feel that we are not worthy or capable of that. Jennifer is a blessing on so many levels. I started seeing her during my first semester as a teacher because of the stress and she has since helped me through my parents’ separation, the potential effects of COVID-19, and so many other things that have come up in my life. I have learned so much about myself from my sessions with her! She is professional but also warm and encouraging. She pushes me to live my life in the best way I can. I’m often floored by how relevant the questions she poses to me are. I can not recommend her enough, especially for young adults and people in periods of transition. She has great availability for those of us who work - she is usually available on the weekends from 9-2ish and on week nights from 6-8ish Central. Jennifer tries to spend as much time with her clients as she feels they need. She checks in with me a few times a week - sometimes more often if she knows I’m dealing with something difficult - and responds quickly to messages I send her. I’ve had several therapists over the years and Jennifer is one of the best I’ve worked with.

In a very short amount of time Jennifer has proven herself to be a compassionate and understanding professional.
She allows me to work out what I need to say, and asks pointed follow up questions that tend to lead me to a point where I am the one figuring out what I need to figure out. It’s reassuring and empowering.

As of now I have felt comfortable talking to her which is abnormal as I usually do not like talking to anyone. Needless to say this has been quite helpful to me.
From the very beginning, I voiced concern that I tend to ‘quit’ therapy when I start to feel better. I explained my last therapist was too passive and requested that we take a more aggressive approach. Jennifer listened, and we have hit some hard-hitting topics almost every day since day one. She listens and she tailors her approach to your needs. That’s the best thing any therapist can do for their client. In just a couple of short weeks, I’m already noticing a difference in the way I react to things and I’m not letting my anxieties completely control me the way I was before. I still have a ways to go, but I think she is the best match to get me where I need to be. I am beyond grateful for that.

I have greatly enjoyed my time with Jennifer. She has been such a real blessing. Other counselors I've had have given me platitudes as advice, but Jennifer really listens and helps me work through issues. I love that she gives me recommendations on reading material or extra exercises - if I want them - that will be beneficial to me!
