About Me

Hello, My name is Jennifer (she/her) and most people call me Jenn. If you are exploring BetterHelp, it is likely that you are struggling with something significant in your life. Finding the right person to help you through these challenges is very important. If you don't have a good relationship with your counselor, you won't make the progress you are hoping to achieve. I want to provide you with some information about me in order to help you decide if my experience and style is the right match for you.

I have been a Licensed Professional counselor for 8 years and have experience working with people from all different backgrounds who are struggling with a wide variety of challenges. Much of my experience has been working with people who are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, LGBTQ+ issues, substance abuse, and “coming of age”. The feedback I receive from clients is that they find me to be caring and nonjudgmental, and they appreciate that I am honest and authentic with them. You can expect me to walk with you through whatever difficulties you are facing and help you learn more about yourself and the way you interact with the world.

I can interact with you in the format that feels most comfortable for you. I find it helpful to participate in video sessions so that we can get to know each other better. But I am also available to you via phone and text if that is more comfortable for you.

I know how hard it can be to find a counselor who you feel a connection with and I would be honored to work with you through this stage of your life. Whatever challenges you are encountering at this moment, there is hope. Things can get better. Things can change. You have more power than you realize. I look forward to working with you as you gain the empowerment, knowledge, and skills required to move through those challenges.

On one final note, if you choose to become my client, I do my absolute best to respond to your request to work with me as soon as possible. Please allow me between 2 - 16 hours to respond initially. However, I do understand that it can be difficult because you are looking forward to getting started! Know I will respond as quickly as I am able. You can send me a message here at any time and as often as you want, though I typically respond to messages every other day, sometimes more or less depending on my schedule with my full-time job.

Current Schedule as of 07/28/20:

Messaging responses:
Short to moderate messages (length wise) : 1-3 responses per week
Long and extra long messages: 1 response every two to three weeks

You can see what time slots are currently available in the scheduling tab. If we are primarily messaging but you would like more from the experience I would advise you to schedule a session or let me know you would like to schedule a time. However, it is totally okay if you'd like to only message.

Jenn is one of the kindest and most genuine humans I have ever been so fortunate to come in contact with. While it is easy for me to shut down and not communicate in an honest way, she always puts me at ease and makes me want to open up. Her insightful and kind observations have helped me more than I can accurately describe. She is understanding, non-judgemental, and to be perfectly honest, our sessions are always the highlight of my week and always give me something to look forward to.

I've only met with Jennifer a handful of times but she has been very supportive and helpful. I have a very hard time being open with anyone or trusting but she has been so easy to talk to and I dont feel any judgement or stress to talk about things I'm not ready to talk about. She is really good about giving me practical advice and nothing overwhelming. I'd definitely recommend having her as a counselor. She's a 10/10

Jennifer is an awesome therapist! She is knowledgeable, grounded, and intuitive in her approach to counseling. She has helped me come to some much needed realizations each time I’ve had a session with her. She genuinely cares about her clients and I feel comfortable talking to her about anything that’s on my mind.
