Jennifer Fishman, LPC, LCPC
About me
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LCPC) in Idaho, as well as Nationally Certified Counselor, and I also hold the Graduate Certificate in Addiction Studies. I have been a counselor for 12 years in different settings, such as community agencies of different kind, as well as my own practice. Prior to becoming a counselor, I was an adult educator and worked for colleges and business schools. As an educator, I was passionate about motivating each student to find an individual “life’s path” and to use education as a tool. As a counselor, I am passionate about my clients learning about themselves through the discovery of individual strengths and unique abilities to take on the life’s journey.
In each session, I strive to encourage my clients to find something about themselves they haven’t noticed before. Depending on my clients’ needs, I use many techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused and many others, but educate on these techniques in the process to help my clients “become their own counselors” and build their own “arsenal” of tools. My counseling style is fluid – I meet my clients “where they are”; at the same time, I have been told by my clients that each session with me gave them different perspective and empowered them to approach life’s problems with unexpected solutions!
I am looking forward to meeting and getting to know you!

Jennifer is a highly skilled and compassionate therapist. She brings clarity, structure, and insight to every session, and she has an exceptional ability to help clients feel understood and supported. She consistently meets me where I’m at and helps me break things down into manageable steps without ever making me feel judged or overwhelmed. She balances empathy with practical, actionable guidance, and she has helped me understand myself and my patterns in ways that finally make sense.
I leave every session feeling lighter, clearer, and more empowered. I cannot recommend her enough.

Jennifer is a great listener. Every time I have a session with her, I take away something actionable that I can work on. She seems to have experience with many different topics and is able to counsel about a variety of issues. One of the things I like about therapy with Jennifer is that she both allows me to take the lead on my primary concerns at that time, as well as checking up on issues that have been reoccurring in my life. I have really appreciated Jennifer during the many months that I have been seeing her.
