Jennifer Fishman, LPC, LCPC
About me
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LCPC) in Idaho, as well as Nationally Certified Counselor, and I also hold the Graduate Certificate in Addiction Studies. I have been a counselor for 12 years in different settings, such as community agencies of different kind, as well as my own practice. Prior to becoming a counselor, I was an adult educator and worked for colleges and business schools. As an educator, I was passionate about motivating each student to find an individual “life’s path” and to use education as a tool. As a counselor, I am passionate about my clients learning about themselves through the discovery of individual strengths and unique abilities to take on the life’s journey.
In each session, I strive to encourage my clients to find something about themselves they haven’t noticed before. Depending on my clients’ needs, I use many techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused and many others, but educate on these techniques in the process to help my clients “become their own counselors” and build their own “arsenal” of tools. My counseling style is fluid – I meet my clients “where they are”; at the same time, I have been told by my clients that each session with me gave them different perspective and empowered them to approach life’s problems with unexpected solutions!
I am looking forward to meeting and getting to know you!

I have only had two sessions with Ms. Fishman but am already so impressed with her ability to understand what I am asking for help with and giving me homework that speaks to growth that I need and want. 100% recommend her for anyone that is not sure where to start and wants assistance moving in the direction of healing and wholeness.

My therapist, Jennifer, was able to cut to the heart of the matter quickly, making our sessions relevant and helpful in a short amount of time. I think BetterHelp does a good job of trying to find a good fit for you, and answering their questions helps get to the therapist with the specialties needed. I am happy to recommend her.

Jennifer is a highly skilled and compassionate therapist. She brings clarity, structure, and insight to every session, and she has an exceptional ability to help clients feel understood and supported. She consistently meets me where I’m at and helps me break things down into manageable steps without ever making me feel judged or overwhelmed. She balances empathy with practical, actionable guidance, and she has helped me understand myself and my patterns in ways that finally make sense.
I leave every session feeling lighter, clearer, and more empowered. I cannot recommend her enough.
