About Me

For some, counseling is a daunting process. For most, finding a good therapist fit is essential. I commend your courage in reaching out for help and I hope that you will find our relationship to be beneficial. The following is a little about myself and my counseling approach to help you determine if you'd like to work with me.

I have a master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Prescott College (2015) and a license in the state of Idaho and Wyoming. Over the past six years, I have worked in a residential educational facility for emotionally and cognitively disabled youth, in a hospital social work department with hospice programs and support groups for cancer patients, and as an adult therapist at a community mental health setting. I have experience with a variety of issues, and especially enjoy my work with clients experiencing stress and anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship issues, family of origin issues, and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. I use an eclectic blend of counseling approaches, catered to the needs of the client. I draw from experience and training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy. I take a person-centered counseling approach and consider you the expert of your own experiences. I strive to create a compassionate and non-judgemental atmosphere to help you make decisions that ultimately support your own personal goals and values.

It is a true honor to witness the experience of another human being, and a great joy to facilitate positive change in others. If you would like to work together, please contact me. I look forward to meeting you.
