Hi! I am a licensed social worker with over 10 years of experience working with people who are looking to acheive wellness and feel like they are living as their best self! Issues such as past trauma, difficulties in relationships, career related stress, family/child related stress, and mental health conditions (depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder to name a few) can feel like a barrier to living a happy and healthy life. Changes in our life and natural stage of life transitions can be stressful even if they are positive for us and it is common to need extra support. Good news-by seeking out a therapist you have already taken the first (and sometimes hardest) step! My approach begins by learning where you are at, what your priorities are for our work together, and identifying how we would know if we have met your goals (what is the end result you are looking for). I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Solution Focused methods to assist you in meeting your goals.
About Jennifer McCarty: Jennifer holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Political Science, graduating with honors. Following, she obtained, with honors, a Master's degree in Social Work. Jennifer provided therapy services in an outpatient clinic setting to persons with a wide variety of diagnosis. She has specialized training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Family Psychoeducation. She most recently served as the Chief Executive Officer for a Behavioral health agency.
