About Me

There is no better time than now. I'm Jennifer, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I'm a counselor specializing in guiding individuals and families through the ups and downs of life, the challenges of relationships, and all of lifes transitions. I have served clients across the US for the last seven years. I began this journey by pursuing a career in counseling and attending Capella University where I received a Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling. Throughout my post-graduate studies, I served as a therapist intern for several large community mental health agencies focusing on a variety of issues such as life transitions, anxiety, boundaries, sexual trauma, recovering from break-ups, self-esteem, and personal growth.

My counseling style is warm and interactive, drawing from several theoretical orientations, is client-centered, based on the belief that every individual brings a unique and formative personal experience. Mostly using client centered, I bring in parts of cognitive behavioral therapy as well as dialectical behavioral therapy depending on what is most helpful for you. I believe that each person has it within themselves to become healthier people with a little guidance. It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I'm here to support and empower you. I look forward to working with you!

Jennifer has been nothing but amazing during our time together. She has helped me work through a lot of my tremors, and has analyzed and helped me see things in a new light.

Jennifer is compassionate and easy to talk to. I feel like I can tell her anything, and she always has a constructive response. She genuinely wants to help me deal with my emotions and feel better about how I navigate life.

Jennifer has been extremely understanding, accessible and supportive in helping me tide over relationship problems. She brought with her a unique set of skills and tools that have helped me figure out what I could do to engage in self-care and self-healing. Almost as soon as we began writing to each other, she came across as someone being approachable, someone you could share with openly, and someone who could (and wants to) genuinely help. It's great to have someone like that, especially when one is going through relationship problems. A big thanks to Jennifer for helping me see the bigger picture and just being such a good listener and guide.

Jennifer has been amazing to work with! I was hesitant to try online counselling, but as soon as I spoke with her the first time I knew I made the right decision. I took the quiz to get properly matched with a BetterHelp counsellor, and Jennifer had experience in all aspects that I was struggling with. She has helped me cope with a breakup, body image issues, problems with friends and family, and always has an ear to lend. I feel like I have made progress towards understanding how to cope when I face issues. She has given me actionable ways to cope, like educating myself through videos, using a journal, changing my mindset and much more. I like the convenience of being able to message her anytime so I can get my thoughts out immediately. I am much calmer now, and don't need to vent to my friends and family as often (this was taking a toll on relationships) because I have her and can get my feelings out and receive knowledgable advice from her. I've never felt judged and feel that I can tell her anything. Thank you Jennifer and BetterHelp, this app has made a powerful positive impact on my life!
