Jess Lampman

About Me

Welcome, and thank you for taking time to learn more about me! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania and I have been working as a therapist in the mental health field for over 5 years. I have a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA and I have worked in a variety of settings including inpatient substance use, outpatient mental health and substance use, and community-based (in home) services. The majority of my experience has included adolescents and transition age adults, focusing on addictions, relationship or family issues, depression, and stress; however, I have also worked with children as young as 6 years old and adults well beyond 60 years old.

I use a person-centered, integrative approach to counseling, which means that my approach is individualized to each person that I work with. I have a strong background in Motivational Interviewing, which is based on the principle of meeting someone where they are at the moment to fully understand their experience. Once I am able to fully understand your concerns and your experiences, I will work to integrate other modalities that take your preferences and cultural needs into consideration. While I believe in the power of talk therapy and having an objective person to process thoughts and feelings with, I also believe that mental and physical health are closely entwined and should be addressed together. By integrating health and wellness, I have found improved outcomes with individuals of every age.

Jess has been great. I'm so glad she's there and working with me. She responds quickly to emails, and has made time in her schedule to accommodate a phone session when it would work for me. She's been extremely supportive and seems to understand my situation. I'm so glad I found this service and especially Jess. I was going through some tough times and am glad this was an option when I found it! Didn't know it was out there.
