About Me
I am originally from Miami, Florida. I obtained my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from NOVA Southeastern University, where I specialized in long-term mental illness, and got my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Florida State University, where I majored in Psychology. I have had the privilege of treating clientele from diverse backgrounds in both English and Spanish, and have experience working in a variety of settings such as inpatient programs, crisis units, community mental health centers, and outpatient clinics. While my theoretical orientation is eclectic, I lean toward Cognitive-Behavior Therapy and Rogerian (or Person-Centered) approaches.
I help clients identify their problematic thinking patterns, develop coping mechanisms, process their trauma, and understand how past experiences affect their current level of functioning. I value the transformative nature of strong therapeutic relationships, and am proficient in providing therapy for individuals, groups, couples, and families. My goal is to apply my compassion and expertise to the therapeutic process, while helping my clients improve their lives, ultimately attaining a sense of peace and fulfillment.
In therapy, I am empathetic, nonjudgmental, and personable; I create a safe space in which clients can begin the process of healing. When needed, I know how to gently guide people through the exploration of their vulnerabilities, losses, grief, and trauma. The philosophy behind my therapeutic approach is best captured in Ernest Hemingway’s famous words: “The world breaks everyone, and afterward, some are strong at the broken places.”

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Jessica Aleman. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Excellent Skills and Response Time. Extremely qualified therapist.
Jessica has been such a great help, and we are only 2 sessions in. Sessions with Jessica leave me feeling like a huge weight is off my shoulders knowing I have someone to help me navigate and unpack a lot of my mental struggles.
My conversation with Jessica is the best conversation I have every week. She listens and really cares. I always leave therapy with something to focus on. I feel so much better since starting therapy with her. Life changing, to be honest.
She was very good at helping me work through my problems and guiding me through issues I was having. I would fully recommend her to anyone.
Dr.Aleman has helped me feel better about myself and how I see the world.
Jessica is a great therapist.
Dr. Jessica Aleman has been remarkably helpful. 20/10 highly recommended
Had been helping me a lot. She listens to me and gives me helpful coping mechanisms
I have been talking with Jessica for a few months now, and she has been such an understanding and positive therapist. This isn't my first time doing therapy; however, speaking with Jessica, I know I can rely on someone who understands my goals and the needs I want out of treatment. Jessica is always cheerful and gives excellent feedback on our sessions. Thank you, Jessica!
I am extremely grateful for therapy and Jessica. It took me many years to seek help and I am glad I came across her. I would recommend her to anyone. If you are scared or unsure about starting, that’s okay but please give yourself the chance to get help and to work through your traumas when you can. It is worth it. I have a long way to go still but that’s okay!
She will listen to your situation, and work with you in therapy not as a crutch, but rather an aid, to help you heal whatever has happened and to make sure you can keep moving forward on your own. As soon as therapy starts, she hits the ground running. She mainly focuses on the point treatment starts and onward, she doesn't dive into your past nearly as much as other therapists I've had in the past. However, her methods work. If given the opportunity, I'd take her first over anyone else.
Jessica Aleman makes you really feel heard and understood. She never dismisses your concerns and always approaches your conversation with an open mind. I love working with someone that has experience in different modalities and types of treatment.
Jessica is really wonderful, I feel completely comfortable talking about my ex and prior relationship. My sessions with Jessica have helped immensely.
Jessica has been amazing as a counselor. I struggle to open up and allow myself to feel vulnerable even with my counselor, but she creates a welcoming and open environment to break down and discuss the numerous messages I send her in a week.
She is the absolute best!
