Julia Burke


About Me

Hi my name is Julia Burke and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in anxiety, eating disorders, and interpersonal conflict. My style is an eclectic mix of holistic, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). With this blend of philosophical background, I guide clients through their current life stressors by looking at the whole person, mind, body and spirit while teaching skills to lean into emotions and build coping strategies.

I began my passion for helping others in college, where I received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Lake Forest College. I then went on to receive my Master's in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago. Since then, I have had a variety of clinical experiences, including working with adolescents in a school setting, providing teletherapy to women experiencing transitions and relationship conflict, as well as working in a hospitalization program for patients with eating disorders.

I believe life is an exciting and beautiful adventure. While life has mountains and oceans, it also has earthquakes and volcanoes. Without these traumas that can quite literally rock our world, we would never see how beautiful life can truly be. You are brave, powerful, and beautiful. You have taken the first step in healing. Julia has helped me grow not only as a person, but has also helped me become a more solid version of myself. She listens to concerns and asks questions to help get to the root of what and why you’re feeling the way you are. She always makes sure she understands what you’re telling her and teaches you about different ways and mechanisms to approach your problems. Julia in short, knows her stuff and helps you sort through “your own stuff”.
