About Me

Hello!
Welcome to Betterhelp.com. We are glad you’re here. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of Florida and Virginia. I have worked with teens, adults and families in a professional capacity since 2006. I enjoy working with a diverse range of clients and have a style that has been described as: “approachable compassion”. I have experience working with teens and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder and relationship issues. I operate from a Solution-Focused Cognitive Behavioral and Adlerian Psychology standpoint. I recognize that we all suffer from the human condition and as a result of that- are all really striving to belong. There is no place you should “belong” more than within the relationship with your therapist. I will always approach treatment and goal setting as a team. I believe some core values of my therapeutic approach are- to encourage clients to be the best version of themselves, to challenge patterns that no longer serve us and to work as a team to accomplish this. In 2016, I became an accredited Positive Parenting Program provider due to my own families struggles raising our son with Autism. Because of these struggles, I now have a unique and evidence-based perspective on parenting issues. Parenting is NOT for the faint of heart and I truly enjoy working with parents in an encouraging and non-judgmental way.
I do not believe our therapeutic journey ends with graduate school; therefore I can often be found reading a new publication, research study or trying on a new evidence-based strategy. If I am challenging my clients to be the best version of themselves, I strive to do the same. Please message me as my availability may extend outside the hours listed. I look forward to working together!

Karen has helped me worked through a few issues this year pre-pandemic. I always have a lot flowing through my mind at any given time and along with the thoughts are the many emotions. She was a great person to discuss different things and help navigate and process it all. It was great to have someone that I could openly talk to and was open to understanding things from my perspective while helping me shift to potentially view things from a different perspective. Which I appreciated and is what I needed.

She has a way to help me understand the power that I have over how I interact with others. She just says key things that help me think. She is amazing!

I have only had one session so far, but she is great! Very understanding, empathetic, and has so far provided tools that have lead me to this far 12 days sobriety on my journey and better coping mechanisms with my triggers! 10/10
