I believe that a vital and connected life is more important than simply avoiding the experience of distress. I like helping clients be motivated to work in and out of the session, ready to try new things and become willing to look deep inside. I utilize a blend of evidence-based practices to develop what works best for each unique individual. Modalities I am trained in and apply include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Harm Reduction Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and Psychotherapy, Motivational Interviewing. Prolonged Exposure Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Working together we can identify your goals and develop a plan on how to achieve them.
I love this work for some many reasons. It opens my heart up and creates this sense of peace and rightness with the world. I am able to bear witness the lowest of lows and sometimes even the highest of highs. I t makes me realize how wide and deep life is. There is so much we experience as human beings and individuals bring the sum of their past experiences as well as their current state into the therapeutic process. I seek to be an educational component that helps you mobilize your resources. My passion comes from knowing that changing the world starts with helping one person and being able to empathize with them. I have been in these shoes, it feels right. I love seeing the resilience in my clients and watching them heal and grow from even the most traumatic experiences. I celebrate those moments where I see hope in the eyes of a client, or a recognition of her own greatness, or a long-abandoned smile.

I have been to a few different therapist, and they have all been one-time sessions. I never feel understood or supported by the therapist I went to. Just in the few weeks I’ve been working with Kassie my life has honestly changed, quite a bit. I have gained the courage with her assistance to do things I’ve wanted for a long time. She is impressively supportive and explains things in a way that is relevant and understandable. It’s nice to have an unbiased, outside perspective when making changes in life. She is also helping me cope with a trauma I suffered a couple years ago. That has been a hard one, but Kassie has opened my eyes to seeing it for what it really was. This is helping me take back my life, gain confidence and be more secure.
