Over the course of 37 years as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I have been privileged to meet and work with people from all walks of life, various backgrounds and experiences. I’ve worked in community mental health, non-profits, private practice and large psychiatry clinics, each teaching me more about people, their needs, and what matters most to them in life. I’ve been pushed to challenge myself, expand my comfort zone, learn new tools and remain curious and learn something from each client I meet. I believe every person I meet is doing their best, but if they are still suffering, I will work with them to find strategies to help them be more effective in reaching their life goals.
My approach to therapy draws from many approaches, Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness, Interpersonal Therapy, etc, and I will work with each individual to learn what skill or approach might fit best to help make the changes as needed. I have felt privileged to spend my career engaging in work that I value. My natural curiosity and respect for others has enabled me to find the process of this work very satisfying. I especially enjoy working with adults who are exploring their lives and relationships who may be struggling with mood and need help finding better coping skills, and with people sorting out various identity issues.
I have attempted to move into retirement, but find myself continually drawn back to work due to the sense of purpose and meaning I find in my work. I love to travel and have had many great adventures and plan to have many more. I love to be outdoors, hiking, biking, kayaking and enjoying nature and am a natural extrovert who enjoys others. I find these interest more satisfying, though, when balanced by meaningful work. If I sound like I might be a good match for your needs, I look forward to meeting with You and hope I can be of help.

Kind, warm and supportive.
Cathy has been great helping me understand some of my triggers and why I am the way that I am and how I can fix those things. She’s also helped me think for myself and process things differently. She’s reassured me that she’s here for me and my needs and also is always making sure that I’m comfortable and okay. She checks in during the week between our sessions and is very attentive.
