About Me

I am a licensed clinical social worker in Ohio with over 5 years of experience working with diverse populations. The majority of my experience is providing counseling to military and veteran families focusing on treating depression, anxiety, low self esteem, adjustment, relationship, anger management and substance abuse in outpatient settings. I also provided brief individual counseling to college students who were having difficulty adjusting to this new environment balancing school, developing new friendships and managing life skills stressor such as budget, time management or unhealthy coping skills.

As a social worker I am approachable and direct with clients as I was trained in cognitive behavioral, solution focused and motivational interviewing therapies. It is a more structured approach to counseling once goals have been identified and we agree upon interventions or homework in between sessions. I will check messages daily and have flexibility with video chats throughout the week so please message me to discuss opportunities. The most important part of counseling is the relationship with the client and I provide honest direct feedback and welcome the same type of discussions in return. I look forward to learning more about you.

Kathryn is a phenomenal therapist!
I've been dealing with a very difficult life effecting decision and when I first came to Betterhelp, the first person I was given, did not ask any questions to set up our first session, and we spent the whole session asking and repeating everything I sent in my initial introduction. Time ran out and it was concluded with her telling me what I already knew, leaving me back at step 1. I felt she didn't listen, didn't support me or care about me and my situation and I was not about to pay for that little to no help.
I immediately got off that first session and switched therapists, I sent the same introduction describing my situation and that I needed tools to help me figure things out. Kathryn immediately asked any follow up questions and immediately was giving me new ways and outlooks to approach my situation. Our first live session, she already sounded like she understood me, my situation fairly well and what I was looking for. She wasn't going to give me a direct answer because that's what I need to figure out, but she gave and still is giving me different tools, questions to ask myself, assignments to take back to my situation to help me figure these things out. And she's continued to respond to my texts throughout the week, so it's way more than just once a week, 30-45mins. I'm getting my money's worth, and seeing and feeling progress. She's helped me realize things about myself, my situation, and ultimately is guiding me to the answers I'm looking for.

I am beyond thankful for finding someone that can figure me out within 2 sessions. I’m looking forward to this journey and figuring myself out. After many attempts with counseling, I finally feel I’m going to get the help I’ve always wanted with Kathryn.

Truly, one of the best therapists I've ever worked with. An extremely good listener, very solutions-oriented and respectful of my context and needs. I honestly feel like Kathryn's in my corner and is a strong, resilient, professional and ethical ally.

Kathryn not only listens to me, but she hears me. She is not there to be my friend, but to help me make sense of the noise in my head. It is very hard for me to seek support as I am very inside my own head, but her confidence in what she does makes me feel confident in moving forward with these sessions.

Kathryn is one of the most organized, well-thought out, and methodical therapists I’ve had the pleasure of working with in our couple months together. A high-performer’s therapist, and for those seeking to become a [high-performer]. Using a combination of self-care guidance & cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Kathryn enhances one’s ability to think more clearly while generating results and teaching what to do, in order to keep on the habitual improvement cycle.

I now meditate, day & night, while also now discerning my emotional well-being, and it doesn’t feel “woo-woo” to me.

I highly recommend Kathryn to those seeking measurable improvements in their productivity & focus.
