First of all, I want to recognize that it’s not always easy to reach out for support. That being said, I’m truly glad that you decided to take this step. I’m aware that another layer of that difficulty can come with trying to find the “right” connection with a provider, which can sometimes feel overwhelming. My hope is that I can ease whatever hesitations you may have so that you can step away feeling understood and not alone in your process.
I find authenticity, humor, and humanness to be incredibly important aspects of the therapeutic relationship. I’m passionate about assisting clients of all backgrounds and identities in leading meaningful lives. Life often throws the unexpected at us and it’s my goal to partner with you to navigate whatever challenges arise along the way.
My clinical background is rooted in working with adults struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, and life transitions. I received both my bachelor’s and master’s degree in social work and have been in the field for 8 years. I’m trained in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and see value in approaching therapy from a mind-body framework. I enjoy working with clients to expand awareness and understand how our bodies organize in relation to our emotional experiences. I’m also trained in Level I and II Gottman Method couples therapy, and utilize tools from this approach when exploring relationship dynamics.
Embracing our humanness is something I emphasize regularly, both in session, and in my day-to-day life. My priority is creating a safe, open, and comfortable environment for this to occur. I would love to talk further about my approach and how we can work together toward your goals.

LICSW #23443 (Expires: 2020-08-31)
I worked with Kendra for a few months to help address some relationship-related stress. She was excellent at both providing insight and giving me space to talk myself through my experiences and thought patterns. The grounding techniques she taught me will be ones I use often going forward. I would absolutely recommend her to someone seeking counseling!
I've just started on Betterhelp, but so far my experience with Kendra Spielman has been pleasant. She responds fairly quickly and seems like a kind and genuinely caring individual.
