My name is Kimberly Jara and I have been practicing therapy for 5 years. I currently have an LPCC license in the state of Minnesota and have been board approved for over 1 year. I graduated with my Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Saint Mary's University in Minneapolis Minnesota. I have a variety of experience from working in the justice system with men with sexual deviance to services in an outpatient setting. I currently run day treatment group therapy at a local rural hospital.
I have a strong background in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Client Centered approaches. I believe thoughts and behaviors are closely linked and impact the way we feel on a regular basis. I can help you work through difficult thought patterns and behaviors to create lasting change and healthy routine. I also believe in fostering fulfilling relationships. My experience providing group therapy has been a basis for helping people with healthy communication, sexuality, love and support. If you're looking to incorporate nature into your mental health routine, I'm your person! Connection with our environment is important to whole person care.
I have a passion for helping adults reach their full potential with whatever life is dealing out! Safety and non-judgement are priorities for my practice. Thank you for trusting me in your journey, I look forward to working with you.

She is so sweet, understanding, patient, and a great human being. She does her research when she encounters something new and is so flexible. She makes me feel safe enough to open up and I actually look forward to going to therapy even if it’s hard because I know she is there with me!
We are still getting to know each other but I feel comfortable talking with Kimberly and find her supportive and helpful. I appreciate that she checks in with me even when I’ve been radio silent for a few days.
