We all, at one point or another, face challenges in our lives. Sometimes these challenges, whether ongoing or situational, can be overwhelming. And sometimes a little help and guidance can make all the difference. Allow me to be that life preserver and compass that keeps you afloat and navigates you to where you want to be in life. I am graduate of Lebanon Valley College, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and McDaniel College, earning a Master of Science in Counseling. I began my career as a school counselor and transitioned into clinic/outpatient based therapy, as well as case management. I have over 6 years of experience providing counseling to children, adolescents, and adults. I provide individual, group, and family counseling, as well as crisis management and responsive services.
I have experience helping clients with depression, anxiety, bereavement/loss, separation/divorce, conflict resolution, guilt/shame, anger management, sexuality, career direction, meaning/purpose in life, work place problems, self-esteem issues, trauma, and pet loss. I also have experience working with military families, helping guide them through issues including TDY, deployment, and separation anxiety, among other things.
I believe in a collaborative partnership, anchored in mutual trust and respect through a non-judgmental approach. I am deeply empathic and believe in validation. You are not alone on this unique and personal journey. I offer the type of help that focuses on exploring feelings, gaining insight, and evoking positive change and self-understanding to resolve conflicts. I believe in the unwavering possibility for a better life, regardless of the circumstance. I believe everyone has the power to change and heal. I don’t pretend to know what is best for you, but together we can work toward your own self-discovery. I strive to unlock a change process deep within and believe in a holistic and unique approach. How that is done is different for every person, so I tailor my approach to fit each individual. I use and combine many techniques, including, but not limited to, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, neurolinguistic programming, solution focused therapy, narrative therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, art therapy, and mindfulness.
It is important to balance having structured goals/direction with a flexibility of the time that it may take to achieve those goals. It is important to know that you will not be judged or criticized for the things you discuss. And please know you can explore or asking anything about me, as we are on this part of your journey together. I believe in being very real and providing support, empathy, humor, skills building, and truthful insights. When it comes to treatment, you are in charge. Through this journey, we will strive to achieve the change required to view things differently and to live a more joyful and peaceful life with more meaning and purpose. I hope to provide a comfortable, safe therapeutic experience that allows you to utilize and discover the hidden strengths inside of you.

Kristin is very compassionate and encouraging. She suggests ideas but is open to mine. I love that every time I get a message she has clearly thought about what I've said and has solid input and guidance. ❤️
