Licensed Professional Counselor and Life Coach with over 18 years experience working as an individual, family and couples therapist. I started my career in community mental health dealing with severe mental illness. I have been witness to some of the most traumatic and symptomatic individuals and know first hand that everyone requires help every now and again. You are not alone!
After completing my Master's Degree and working within the impoverished communities of North Philadelphia I accepted a position with the American Red Cross. Within this role I was fortunate enough to gain hands-on experience as a first responder to local emergencies and leading many consulting initiatives within Philadelphia. I was appointed as liaison to Chester county and became a trainer and presenter to the entire 5 county region. This has helped me to learn about trauma and dealing with devastating circumstances.
From there I began working with a group practice and branched into a private practice. I continue to complete research, publish articles and author presentations on many different psycho-educational topics including overcoming interpersonal and relationship issues, anxiety, self-confidence, infidelity, abuse related trauma and PTSD type reactions. In addition to my private therapeutic practice my current clinical work involves completing data analysis for clinical research. I have successfully completed many years of rigorous training and calibration exercises, by assessment experts and scale authors. I am able to confidently determine appropriate diagnosis and identify best practices for the most appropriate and customized therapies.
As a seasoned therapist my toolbox consists of varied behavioral techniques always accompanied by a humanistic and mindfulness approach. I am fiercely committed to my patients and will not rest until we find your correct path. My counseling style is pretty laid back. I have been described as supportive and compassionate, with an ability to add humor when appropriate. I work from a strengths-based perspective to assist you in maximizing what works for you and overcome your life's challenges. I'm here to help you and offer you a safe space to be open and honest. As a professional I am trained to leave my personal feelings and biases aside and to attend only to you and your unique situation.

I appreciate the feedback from Kristy, she assigns homework, which really helps to look differently at different situations. I really respect Kristy's knowledge and insight.
I am very happy to be working with Kristy, she is always very sweet and very helpful, always knows how to spark up the conversation and makes me feel better after every session. If I start a session feeling down I am always sure it will end with a smile. She's the best therapist I could have ever asked for, I am very glad to have been assigned to her. Highly recommended.
Kristy Wolanski has been my counselor since April 2018. At that time my anxiety was so severe due to traumatic situations that I never fully processed. Based on our first session, it was evident that Kristy is truly passionate about her career as a counselor. She’s genuine, compassionate, understanding and very trusting, which are important qualities for a successful counselor/client relationship. Since working with Kristy, I’ve grown tremendously and have been able to deal with anxiety producing situations in a much more healthy and confident manner. Kristy has taught me that anxiety doesn’t define me, it’s just a part of my life and that I have the ability to face it, deal with it and move on with the beautiful life and gifts that God has provided me with. Without a doubt, I highly recommend Kristy Wolanski.
Kristy has been instrumental in helping me make powerful life changes. I know I had to do the work, but she helped me see things differently and approach life in new and powerful ways.
Kirsty is a good listener and has great empathy; Kirsty takes time to listen and gives you a constructive way of moving forward, really taking the time to explore your thought processes.
Kristy is patient and supportive, yet also willing to challenge her patients for growth and learning. She's friendly and professional and is willing to get on her patients' individual levels of understanding and provide fresh perspectives and strategies to help unpack their issues, problem solve and progress. I have been enjoying our sessions.
I really like my counselor. It's not easy to open up, and many things that I'm sure still bug me from my past I haven't shared. She's not pushy, but really seems to listen. Sometimes I give her lots and I feel like she really takes the time to read everything or I give so little and she never seems annoyed. She's very easy to talk to and meets me where I'm at. I don't feel pressured to share but I do because I know she's here to help. This is the first time I've sought for help and I'm very happy BetterHelp is around and happy with who they picked for me.
She listens well and give a good guidance as to how to go about the problem. She is good at coming to root cause of the problem taking life stories as case studies.
Kristy helped me tremendously in just a very short period. She is a very gentle, intelligent and non-judgemental therapist. She challenged me a lot. Thanks to her I could look at my thinking and behavioural patterns from a different angle and take distance from them.
I immediately felt at ease talking to Kristy. She made me feel comfortable talking about stuff I've been bottling up for a very long time.
Kirsty is responsive and professional.
Kirsty has been helpful during a time of major transition - both in my personal life and professional life. She is consistent, kind and encouraging.
I like the way she takes the time to break things down into specific areas. It is helping me see where I need to work.
Kristy is an amazing therapist-she is adept at helping her clients identify problems & tailors her help to most effectively solve issues. I love how straightforward she is & I can be just the same with my communication-no judgment. She is helping tremendously with my relationship & work issues-I feel so lucky to be working with her! She has a talent, she has the knowledge/understanding/skills to really strengthen her clients to handle problems on their own. THANK YOU, KRISTI!!!
BetterHelp.com is an amazing platform as well-no need to bottle up all your thoughts/emotions until your next clinical visit, use it as much or as little as you need. The phone sessions are definitely worth it as well-use this tool!
I came here looking for help because I was completely overwhelmed with LIFE - grad school, parenting, marriage, caregiving... Kristy has been extremely helpful in helping me start to get on top of out of control situations and stress. I'm glad that I found her here and can work with her on a flexible schedule. It's been a blessing!
Kristy Has helped me through depression, a job loss, family issues, a new job, budgeting, and much more. It is great to be able to type out what I am feeling when it's happening. She helps me work through my anxiety and create a plan rather than watch it happen. Thank You.
