Lane Newton

About Me

Welcome! My name is Lane Newton, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Tennessee. I specialize in working with trauma, abuse, attachment, anxiety, and depression and have experience working with clients in a variety of settings, including domestic violence, adoption, foster care, and private practice. I earned my masters in counseling from Vanderbilt University. I practice evidenced-based treatments and am certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Attachment, Self-Regulation, and Competency (ARC), and Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) therapies.

I believe that relationship and collaboration are two essential components of counseling. It is important for each person to feel safe and valued in order to move forward in therapy. I strive to create connection and a safe space for each individual I work with in order to process and make progress towards one's goals. It is an honor to be able to listen, support, and help individuals find hope. I would love to join you on your journey towards healing!

She has been understanding, a great listener and willing to help me think more clearly now. She has saved me from making bad choices in life.

Lane has been absolutely amazing to me, I was in a bad place anxiety wise and not even real life therapy seemed to be useful. Lane really listened to me, was compassionate, caring and genuinely made me feel heard. Her methods are really useful and I feel they've been working really well. Even when you're not in a session she always responds quickly and very elaborate. My life has for sure been turned around for the better, we're still working on my anxiety. But I feel it's totally going to work out now!

She helped me when my work-life balance was NOT balanced. She listened to my words and heard my heart. Her ideas were useful in finding ways to begin self-care as an overworked working mother to special needs children.
I needed help identifying what I really needed. As a mom I forgot to take care of myself. She helped me rediscover my inner self.
