About Me
Hello Better Help community, my name is Laura Escobar and I am your Los Angeles based Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have been a social worker for 10 years and have been specializing in mental health for the last 5 years. I have had the pleasure of working with the age spectrum and have experience working with teenagers, adults, and the geriatric population. My experience in mental health includes working with individuals to overcome depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, adjusting to changes in life, and relational issues.
My practice and style is rooted in a person centered approach that also values how individuals are impacted by their environments. In sessions, I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness practice, and solution focused interventions. I believe therapy first starts with learning the language of our feelings and would be humbled to collectively work to grow your communication skills, insight, confidence, self care regimes, and overall well being.
I look forward to working with you and extending my support in the therapeutic process.

Reviews
Laura was very timely in her responses and was able to ask reflective, no judge mental questions. She was persistent with follow ups which allowed me to feel heard and supported.
Laura is extremely knowledgable and easy to relate to. She's able to help me identify patterns in my own emotions, thoughts, and behaviors that have empowered me to recognize those behaviors in myself and use them to my advantage. She gives advice that is easily comprehended and applies to day to day life. She's helped me understand myself a lot better and feel comfortable opening up about my own faults and things I can work on to improve my quality of life.
