About Me

Hello! I am a licensed counselor and life/professional coach based in Colorado. I grew up in England but have lived in the USA for 19 years. I am very happy to call Colorado home. I found my calling later in life and graduated with my MA in Counseling in 2015.

I approach working with you by starting where you are. I want to hear your experience and goals. Depending on your needs, I may combine Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy in counseling, along with coaching tools. However, it always starts with listening to you.

Many clients who come for counseling may simply have a general awareness that things don't feel right in their life. There is a lack of happiness, direction, and sense of wellbeing. We may find old wounds to heal and work together to reset your compass. Other times, people seek counseling because of a specific problem or event.
I often work with:
- Anxiety, social anxiety and self-esteem
- Depression
- Eating disorders and body image issues
- Facing serious illness of yourself or a loved one
- Grief
- Personal development
- Relationship issues

A little more about me
For nearly 15 years I built and fundraised for affordable housing and worked to support executives in large and small organizations. Overall, I was seeking opportunities to help me understand my strengths and purpose. 2004 was a defining year in that search. I was in the eye of a Category-4 hurricane, as was my home and the affordable homes we'd built in our devastated town. However, those months of rebuilding taught me how much we are all capable of when we are tested (including myself!) I became much more authentically and purposefully engaged with people around me, and sought to develop my abilities to help people find their own value. Over the next few years I became a Martha Beck life coach and then counselor. Life throws us all challenges. I am grateful and fortunate, however, that these have helped me learn to trust in myself and the universe to help me catch those curve balls and redirect their power.

Please know that wherever you are on your journey, you can change your direction to your true destination, no matter where you begin. I look forward to working with you!

Laura is an amazing therapist!! She really takes the time to listen to you and she genuinely cares and really helps you with how to deal with what you are going through and help you come up with solutions. Laura is very kind, responsive, punctual and respectful. I started talking to Laura about my history of depression, anxiety, eating disorder and self doubt and struggles related to work. Laura does amazing work and her therapy is extremely insightful and very grounding. As an anxious person my mind tends to worry a lot and when I do my video therapy sessions with Laura, I feel like I am pulled back into the present moment and feel like I am able to work through my feelings, thoughts, behaviors and connect them to my struggles and I am to able work through them to find a solution and find hope in a safe space. I feel very lucky and grateful to have Laura as my therapist. She is a wonderful person!! ☺️
