About Me

Hi! I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas and Virginia. I earned my MA in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in cognitive-behavioral therapy and working with children. I have over 10 years of experience working with various populations and in a variety of settings. Most recently I've worked with people of all ages in private practice on issues such as depression, anxiety, stress, relationships, transitions, and parenting. Previously, I have worked with kids in residential facilities, survivors of sexual abuse, offenders in secure facilities, substance abusing teens in schools, and youth and their families in a community mental health center. My primary mode of treatment is cognitive-behavioral therapy with a very person-centered approach. I see my job as helping you meet the goals you've defined and working together to gain a better understanding of the challenges in life and improve overall wellbeing.

I am a military spouse of 15 years and mother of two. I have learned the importance of flexibility and support in times of change and stress, on a personal level, and I strive to be a source of support and change for those seeking this. Life is tough, but we have each other. I am here to help.

Lisa is very understanding, supportive, insightful, and not judgmental. I truly would recommend her to anyone with past trauma, current trials, or someone just needing someone to talk to.

I haven’t had much interaction with Lisa, but the little I have talked to her she made me feel better. Her responses seem honest and understanding of my situation.

BetterHelp was my first experience seeking help. I didn't know what to expect but my conversations with Lisa and the support that she has provided me over the last few months was exactly what I needed. Lisa is understanding, professional, and always caters our conversations and the manner of communication (scheduled video calls or messages) towards my needs. Conversations with Lisa feel like I am talking to an old friend, but one who has the expertise to help pinpoint why I might be feeling or thinking the way I do. Lisa's warm and friendly personality also helped me to open up and feel comfortable with sharing tough experiences and feelings. Lisa has always been encouraging and her recognition that I had seemingly accomplished many of the personal goals that I set was immeasurably valuable. I would highly recommend Lisa to anyone seeking help for any reason.
