Hi, I am glad you are here. It is a big step to realize you might need assistance and an even bigger step to take the initiative to contact someone. Let me tell you a bit about myself and if I seem to be a good fit for you we can begin as soon as you would like.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Hawaii. I began my career in Seattle, Washington at the University of Washington. I graduated with an undergraduate degree in psychology and a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work. I began working in community mental health with underserved populations. I then spent a number of years in a Medication Assisted Treatment facility counseling folks who were living with addictions and mental health issues. While a difficult job it was very rewarding to see progress.
When I moved to Hawaii I worked in private practice treating people with a variety of needs, yes even in “paradise” people have mental health concerns. I returned to mental health/addiction treatment for court ordered clients. This involved working with people whose issues, along with addiction, included anger management, criminal behavior and mental health. Throughout my career I have worked with veterans and active military members, which I do now on a volunteer basis. I am fortunate to have had such broad experiences with a wide variety of people. This has enabled me to be non-judgmental, open-minded, and willing to meet you where you are at.
I take a very client centered approach and encourage feedback. I bring the tools and you will bring the content; together we can find what will work for you. As no two individuals are alike nor should therapy be the same for each person. I have had the benefit of learning many different evidence-based therapies and do not feel bound to any one type of treatment. This allows my clients to assist in crafting their own treatment which in turn increases the likelihood of success!
The beauty of being able to provide services through Better Health is the flexibility of service provision. That said if you think I may be a good fit please feel free to contact me anytime to begin.

Lisa has been an incredible therapist for me! She has always been for me when i needed someone to talk and provide genuine ears to listen :) She truly understands her client by heart and i fully recommend Lisa as therapist of your choice !
Lisa is both houghtful and helpful. She shares empathy while also providing tools to help you better understand the science behind your mental struggles and methods on how to process them.
Lisa Stilwell has been an absolute pleasure since her and I have started working together. She has been incredibly helpful, supportive, patient, and understanding of everything we've talked about in our sessions and I cannot thank her enough for everything she's done for me since being in her care.
This is my first time doing anything like this and she has helped me feel very comfortable and is very knowledgeable and great with providing information which I love!!!!!
Madam Stilwell is an experienced therapist who truly wants the best for her clients. She is understanding, supportive, and professional. I am very comfortable with her during the weekly session. With her help, I become more rational when I gotta deal with my marital problems and anger issues. It’s so frustrating when your loved one keeps your hopes up and doesn’t listen to your words. But, there is always another way out. Be grateful and happy and cherish the moment you have with people you love really matters. That is what I learned from her.
Lisa is amazing! Even though I could probably get free therapy elsewhere, I choose to continue with Lisa because she really listens to her clients, offers great feedback and always remembers what I’m up to!
Lisa is always reliable and makes herself available to me in between sessions when I need it the most. She's great to work with
Lisa is empathetic and practical; she hears me and helps me see how I can help myself.
Lisa is a phenomenal therapist. She has been very helpful, and is always prepared for a session, offering support and things to consider in one's path towards bettering themselves.
Lisa is amazing. She helps me consider things from a different angle. She pushes back on me in a really great way. She even gives me materials for my kids about mindfulness & naming emotions. Amazing.
She gets me. It’s pretty early to write a thoughtful review but we connected and I feel safe with her.
Lisa is an amazing therapist! As someone's first experience with a therapist, Lisa has been incredibly helpful. She was able to help me through a lot of family and life problems, and I am now in a much better mindset thanks to her skill.
Lisa has been great for me
Lisa and I have quickly bonded and with each appointment I feel more and more comfortable to open up and talk about my trauma and day to day experiences. So grateful to have her as a therapist!
I’ve been someone who’s had some cold feet and nervousness towards starting therapy. Lisa has been my amazing introduction in thanks to her genuine interest, warm reassurance, and surplus of patience. She’s been instrumental on helping me equip myself with a better vocabulary for deeper self-understanding. She’s encouraging, informative, and invested.
Where do I even begin. Lisa was such a joy to work with! She is the epitome of what a therapist should be. I hope she knows that she has made a huge positive impact on my life. She genuinely cares about her clients. I’m thankful and lucky I got matched with her to be my therapist. She definitely doesn’t need my validation to know that she’s an amazing therapist. I could continue to brag about her but you’ll see for yourself how great she is!
Very lovely and easy to talk to
Lisa is great to work with. She has great exercises and tools for me, and really tailors my therapy to what I need and what works for me.
Lisa is so awesome! She listens intently and fully responds to any concern you may have. In my experience she has aided me in attempting to overcome my anxiety by giving me the encouragement and tools necessary to do such a thing.
Lisa has helped me so much these last couple months! I feel very supported and safe with her.
I worked with Lisa only a few weeks now but I am confident in her abilities and am Lucky to have been matched with someone of her expertise.
Lisa has been very helpful during such a troubling and chaotic time. It's nice to know I can reach out anytime I need support. We've been working together since this summer. She has helped with heavy family matters and childhood trauma. We work through it together. And it is a process. I'm glad I have her assistance. It would be so much harder to deal with all the issues on my own..
Lisa is good at catching on to our subtleties and connecting the dots that we ourselves may have missed. She has a great perspective on matters of different scale, which is supported by her background and experiences.
Lisa is an awesome therapist. She cares a lot and works hard to help you. She is amazing at responding promptly. I would definitely recommend Lisa.
Lisa is just great, really happy that I have been assigned to her. I feel better every time I am having a session with her. She helped me so much in such a short time period, I am impressed how great she is. I would recommend her a million times !
Great listener and gives good advice. Knows how to work with a patient that does not like communication.
I have an extensive background with therapists over the years. Lisa is exceptional. She listens and offers very productive solutions and holds me accountable to follow through. I am a believer is asking for help when I need it. My husband recently died and I need reassurance, understanding, and guidance. She is an important lifeline right now.
