About me

I am a LCSW of 25+ years with experience working with seniors, individuals with depression/anxiety, grief counseling and individuals undergoing dialysis. I use the modality that brings the greatest results in a positive, non-threatening way. Connection is important between the therapist and the client and my experience has given me the opportunity to make great connections. I have always wanted to be a social worker and was able to complete my Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Adelphi University and my Master's degree in Social Work from Columbia University both in New York. I also had the opportunity to earn my MPH in Social Work from the University of California, Berkeley on a scholarship for my interest and work with developmentally disabled adults. Much of my career has been working with the elderly in nursing facilities as the Director of Social Work. This allowed me the opportunity to work closely with both parents and their children who were dealing with many life changes. I have always been interested in the mental health of individuals and have assisted them in reaching their potential of well-being. Other areas of interest and experience has been a therapist in a drug rehab program, home health, hospice and home dialysis patients. My primary approach is through cognitive therapy .
