I have a master's degree from Nova Southeastern University and am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. My experience over the last four years includes working as a grief and bereavement specialist at a hospice care facility, working with children ages 3-18 at a community health organization, working with teens and adults in private practice, and facilitating various support groups. Prior to my work as a therapist, I held various part time jobs while being a mom to my four children. After a diagnosis of breast cancer two years ago, I developed a particular passion for working with clients with chronic and terminal illness.
I utilize a variety of techniques and partner with my clients to assist them with achieving their goals. I have had varied experience in the helping field and I am passionate about working with individuals throughout the therapeutic process. I use an eclectic approach to therapy, using various techniques including person-centered therapy, solution focused therapy, EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing), psycho-education, cognitive behavioral therapy, and art and play therapy.
Please feel free to reach out if you have questions or would like to talk more. I definitely understand that finding the right therapist can take time, and I take absolutely no offense if we try this out and you feel like it isn't the right fit. Overall, I value honesty and want you to feel empowered to do what's best for you.

Honestly the best therapist I have had, and the best therapy experience I have encountered. I am extremely happy with how well my therapist and I work together, and how she pushes me out of my comfort zone, only when she knows I am able to handle it! BetterHelp saved my life!

Mary is exactly what I want in a therapist. She is a great listener and asks questions to encourage self-reflection. Mary shares relevant stories from her own life to guide discussion about difficulties in my own life. I appreciate how Mary always reads and responds to my journal entries that I share, and offers affirmation to make me feel supported. With Mary's help, I have grown enormously in my own self-confidence, ability to advocate for myself, and establishing healthy boundaries in my personal relationships.

I’ve been working with Mary for a while now and I have really seen myself grow throughout the process. She took the time to establish trust within our therapeutic relationship. She pushes me when needed, empathizes when needed, and points me towards great resources to address the things I am dealing with in my life.

Mary had been amazing. I didn’t really know where to start with therapy at first, but I knew I needed help. She is able to help me with current issues, as well as delving into past trauma and making connections where appropriate. She is also highly responsive to any communication I send and always goes above and beyond to support me. I am truly grateful to her. I highly recommend Mary.

I'm not very good at leaving reviews, but I will say this: if you're thinking about starting therapy, do it. I was hesitant because I studied psychology & thought that I knew how to handle things on my own. Boy was I wrong. As the saying goes, we are our toughest critics. Having someone like Mary on my side has helped me so much. She is supportive, kind, understanding, and she's gives some pretty amazing advice. She has definitely made me see things from a different perspective & she's a great listener when I just need to vent. I'm very happy with my decision & my therapist. So much so, that I have recommended quite a few friends & family to join BetterHelp.

In just three weeks of having Mary listen and support and encourage me through a difficult time, my self confidence and self assurance has really been boosted. I’m open to hearing if there may be another way for me to do things and it’s been a blessing to know that she validates my concerns and approach in the issue at hand. As a mom who is trying to do the right and best thing for my kids she has been a calm voice in the midst of turmoil.
