About Me

Welcome! Your path has brought you to a place where you are in need of support, and now here you are. Regardless if you're struggling with heavy pain, or just needing an unbiased shoulder to lean on, I am so proud of you for making it this far. It takes courage and bravery to even begin the process of looking for help. Remember that counselors are like a good sweater, you've got to find the one that will fit you best. Here's a little about me so you can determine if I am a good fit for you:

I have a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Memphis. I am a dual licensed mental health provider and substance abuse specialist. I have spent the last four years working to establish and oversee an inpatient substance abuse rehab program for dual diagnosis clients, both civilian and military. I have extensive experience in treating addiction from alcohol and drugs in teenagers and adults. In this setting I was able to treat not only addiction, but underlying mental illness. Through the course of this work I have become well versed in treating trauma resulting from sexual abuse or combat deployment. I am a member of the LGBTQ+ community, and have worked with clients to explore heavy issues such as self disclosure, transition, and healing from childhood trauma.

When it comes to treatment, I use a person-centered, holistic, and integrative approach. What this means is that I begin where you are right now in your journey, and we will create a plan of treatment made just for you. When I treat a client, I firmly believe in treating you as the whole person that you are, not what a code in a textbook says you should be. I combine the use of unconditional loving support, and firm tough love when needed. I believe with my whole heart that anyone can succeed with the right support and resources. I use a combination of CBT and DBT style for treatment, with a dash of what former clients called "hippie dippie stuff" for flavor. I use metaphors quite a bit and love to talk about your feelings. Our sessions can be through whichever method makes you feel most comfortable. I find it helpful to use video sessions, but if you would prefer to only chat that is just fine too.

I welcome all clients of the LGBTQ+ community, those exploring new sexuality or sexual roles, and those in poly-amorous relationships.

Outside of being a clinician, I am also a huge nerd who loves gaming, anime, and comics.

Meagan is the best therapist I have ever encountered. She offers great suggestions and seems very knowledgeable. I love how she explains what happens at a physical level in the body during heightened emotional states and how that relates to managing overall wellness. She also seems to be able to explain complex concepts in ways that are easy to understand and relate to. I'm so glad I found her! She helps me feel happier!

I absolutely love working with Megan! She is so patient and understanding with me. I feel like she always has the right things to say. She gives me the confidence I feel that I need. She pushes me to be a better person and to look at my life in another light. I highly recommend Megan. I wish I would have found her sooner!

Meagan is amazing, she has been great so far and I always look forward to our sessions. I appreciate how she can keep the conversation light hearted even when I’m feeling very anxious and down. She always puts a smile on my face and is able to keep me on track by reminding me of all the progress we have made.

Meagan Jones has been a huge help with me from the start. I never thought I would choose therapy but gave it a shot and found a friend that would listen. I strongly giving it a try if you are down in the dumps and just need someone to talk to. Getting the negativity off your chest to a complete stranger will lift you up and free your mind!

While I have only been using BetterHelp for a couple of weeks, I couldn't be more pleased with Meagan Jones as my counselor: she's adept at asking the right questions and creating an atmosphere of trust and rapport as we identify, examine, and confront the patterns in my life that have adversely affected my personal and emotional development as well as the experiences that have contributed to those patterns. I recommend Meagan to anyone who is serious about owning their problems and seeking a supportive and attentive counselor who is focused on healing and holistic wellness.
