About Me

Licensed as a counselor since 2003, I truly love what I do and am grateful to have the opportunity to connect with people in such a unique way through counseling. With a background in a variety of settings, I have experience with assisting people with many life issues, specializing in working with people in the areas of anxiety, depression, improving relationships, and grief and loss. I tend to follow a solutions-focused approach, incorporating existential and mindful practices to help people develop a skill set focused on resilience and adaptability.

Each individual has their own personality and perspective, so I take your personal traits into account when tailoring my approach to meet your needs. I believe it is important for counseling to offer a sense of emotional safety and acceptance, and I want you to trust that you are supported through your growth process. We will work together to find strategies that are effective for you while also exploring persistent themes in order to prevent continued patterns you are ready to discard. Thank you for taking the first step by bravely reaching out and caring enough for yourself to start this process. I look forward to going on this healing journey with you!

Melissa has been a constant during one of the most difficult times I experienced. She created an immediate sense of trust and made it easier for me to embrace what I was going through. She is very encouraging and understanding. My favorite thing about her is when she asks me a question, it's usually something I haven't thought about before -which pushes me to look at things in different perspectives. She is simply amazing!

She is amazing. She listens and understands everything that I tell her. She gives me different types of techniques to try and they seem to work. She doesn’t judge me and I really appreciate her so much. She’s helped me to free my thoughts and learn to live a healthy mental life. She’s very encouraging as well.
