I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in the state of Washington and a Certified Divorce Coach. I have been working with clients for 20 years. We all go through transitions in our lives and sometimes these changes cause us to seek out support of a professional to guide us through. I am honored to help you through your transitions and enjoy helping clients find solutions to problems. My background includes working with depression, anxiety, transition to parenthood, parenting, relationships, divorce recovery, infidelity recovery, self esteem, mid life issues, empty nesting, career transitions and emotional abuse. I believe that together, we can help you get though your problems and find new ideas to help you live a happy life. I also provide divorce recovery and life transitions coaching services. Coaching is not therapy, but will help you through the emotional recovery of divorce and transitions and assist you in moving forward to the next stage of your life with confidence!
My therapeutic approach is cognitive behavioral, solution focused and person centered. I will tailor our treatment plans to meet your specific needs. I genuinely care about your well being and will do my best to help you feel safe and secure in the therapeutic relationship. I want you to feel respected and listened to, throughout our time together.
Reaching out for help is the first step in getting through difficult times. I encourage you to take this step and begin your journey to emotional wellness. I look forward to working with you.
I am licensed to provide therapy to clients who reside in Washington state. But if you wish to receive divorce recovery and life transition coaching, I can work with you from any location. Michelle is an incredible counselor, the positive mindset from discussions with her will stay with you long-term!
Michelle is a very patient, kind counselor. She answered in a timely manner and helped me set realistic goals. She was able to really help me and knew a lot about my anxiety.
Michelle has helped me so much in such a short amount of time. She cuts right to the point of things and makes me think about and recognize what I didn't see before. She is awesome and I would highly recommend her!
Michelle has been truly a savior in my life--I can't begin to express how much she has helped me in an extremely volatile time in my life. She has continued to help me through this transition, and I am extremely grateful.
Michelle has been great in helping me feel comfortable connecting and opening up to her. She has given me great advice and feedback and also some really good mechanisms to work on controlling my thoughts and getting through tough times.
Michelle has been very helpful and timely with her responses. Overall, shes been great!
Michelle was immensely helpful in picking out the core issues at hand, even though my thoughts (in the midst of personal hardships) were chaotic at best. I appreciated her objective guidance through a difficult situation.
In a moment of confusion, if not crisis, I was seeking help when I came across BetterHelp's on-line service. I was referred to Michelle Lechnyr and I am so grateful for that connection. My feelings were validated, my issues were addressed in a direct and supportive way, and she helped me find a path forward. Without reservation, I recommend this service and, especially, Michelle.
Michelle makes you feel like you have an advocate. I was dealing with some anxiety due to some medical issues and her calm nature and guidance have been so grounding for me. I always feel like she truly cares.
So far Michelle has been great. I have only been working with her a few weeks now and its just the beginning. I like that I can go back through and re-read her advice as I would forget or remember wrong if it were in person with no reference. She has given me some helpful articles and told me about the Pandora's project that I am going to look into more.
Michelle is very thoughtful. I strongly recommend her.
Michelle is a wonderful counselor who truly wants to help. She is understanding, supportive, encouraging and uplifting at the same time. I would recommend her to my friends and family any time.
I've only been working with Michelle for about a month now, but am so glad that I've reached out through BetterHelp. Michelle comes across as supportive, encouraging, and resourceful. She has helped me understand my situation from a different perspective and to focus my attention on the future and what I want for myself and my kids. I have a tough road ahead and I know I have a support system I can utilize to help me through it. BetterHelp allows me to connect when I need it, conveniently, and confidentially... it's a great resource for individuals who live busy lives but also know they need support and counseling.
Michelle has been really helpful and insightful. She has great empathy, and links me to insightful articles which have been useful to me.
Michelle has been unbelievably insightful. She immediately understood my personal & career challenges, and has helped by providing practical and personalized advice. I can't recommend her enough!
Michelle has been so patient and knowledgable. She accepts me where I'm at and challenges me to work hard to be healthy.
Michelle is a God-send. I highly recommend her as a counselor and therapist when facing life's challenges. She is quick to reply, has an open mind and ready, sound advice. I am happy that she is working with me!
I have found Michelle to be very insightful into the human condition. In this forum of e-mail it can be challenging to get an accurate read on a person; however, she has a true gift of getting to the heart of the issue and finding helpful resolutions. She gives me a lot to think about and explore in my own life, so that when we come back together (virtually) in our session, I have meditated on this. I personally prefer the option of reading what she has said and thinking about it, perhaps coming back to e-mail again so that I can re-read some of her suggestions or thoughts. It is much better than face-to-face interaction in this way, even though I am sure that she is equally skilled in that setting as well. I look forward to continuing to work with her as I gain more insight into my own life.
