Welcome, and kudos for taking this step in self-care. For some, reaching out for support comes easily; for others it is a scary step that they are unsure of. Either way, as a Clinical Therapist, I am inspired by every individual who makes the choice to utilize this resource because there is no reason for anyone to “go it alone” in this world. My name is Michelle and I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor in the state of Michigan, with over 20 years in the helping field. I have been fortunate enough to work with adolescents, adults, couples and families with a wide range of difficulties. I have a passion for treating individuals with a history of trauma and helping them live a meaningful life where they don’t have to pretend the trauma never happened. I also have extensive experience treating individuals/couples with sadness, anxiety, poor coping skills, grief, anger management, and relationship issues. In addition, I have 8 years of specific experience working with survivors of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, which has included insight of perpetrators as well.
I strive to fully understand why and what type of help someone is seeking. My own counseling style tends to be a humanistic, strengths based, and solution focused approach, while giving proper value and attention to how someone’s experiences have shaped their beliefs and behavior. I also recognize that not everyone is ready for a “solution” when they first seek help; often they just need to be heard and gain insight in to their own thoughts and feelings without judgement. I tend to use therapeutic strategies grounded in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing to assist clients in meeting the goals we have developed together. I do this type of work because when I see someone transition from feeling alone and struggling, to feeling validated and heard; it is the ultimate reward. I look forward to working with you!

Michelle is the loveliest human. She is kind and compassionate. She gives thoughtful, and wonderful nudges that challenge me and create really room for thought and growth. I am so thankful for her.
Michelle has been such a big part of my life since we started counselling. She is amazing, supportive, and very professional. I would definitely recommend her to anyone.
I’ve left a bunch of reviews for Michelle Solo, but I can’t express enough gratitude. Michelle has helped me through so much and possibly saved my life. Thank you so much Michelle, you’re the best.
Michelle is extremely helpful and supportive. She puts up with a lot of my nonsense, and she is always professional and nonjudgmental. She smoothly manages to dissolve my negative thoughts and makes me think in a positive way. She is very knowledgeable and resourceful. I have no single double in recommending her to anyone. She is excellent!
Michelle is my first therapist and so far everything has being a great experience. She has helped me acquire more perspective into situations, try to find new ways of resolving issues and made me understand more things about myself and my experiences. She is very attentive and makes sure to respond in a very short period of time. I would totally recommend her!
Michelle is a great listener. She responds to messages in a timely manner and gives lots of consideration and thought to her responses. She is helping me so much on my journey to finding myself again.
Effective, grounding and very helpful.
I worked with Michelle last year to help me come to terms with some major changes to my life due to illness and how that had also affected other parts of my life. I've returned to work with Michelle again now I am facing new challenges because her past help and support was immensely valuable and I can't think of anyone better place to help me with the new challenges I'm facing.
Thanks so much Michelle for all you did so far and keep helping me through all this.
I don’t if I would of be able to live and continue with all this help!! Highly recommended. She is great to work with.
Michelle is a very kind and supportive counsellor and I would highly recommend her services.
Michelle and I have just begun communicating, and already, I have boundless hope for my future. She's very tool-oriented and doesn't just listen. I've never before had a therapist who is so actively involved in taking steps to help you get better. I would highly, highly recommend her, especially for those who have lost faith in therapy. I did. She's going to surprise you.
Michelle has been the most incredible therapist I have ever worked with. She actively listens, gives constructive feedback, and really cares about the wellbeing and improvement of her patients. If you want to see progress in handling anxiety, depression, or trauma, Michelle is your girl!
Michelle is great! I am very pleased with our work together and I'd recommend her professional services to anyone.
Michelle is an incredibly kind and professional therapist. She has helped me a lot so far and because of my therapy with her I was empowered to leave a toxic long term relationship. I love that she puts a lot of thought into her messages with me and she is a great listener and always gives wise advice.
I started with a different counselor who I didn't quite 'click' with, but Michelle has been really wonderful. She listens well, asks the right questions, and provides insights that I've been working towards but haven't really reached. She responds to messages quickly and has been there to redirect my panicked thoughts. I'd highly recommend her!
Michelle has been a good listening ear with helpful suggestions to work through my issues. I appreciate her.
I had multiple therapist in my life, some overwhelming, some to rigid. Michelle is a true listener and a professional. She doesn't judge. Ever. She never pushes boundaries that are not meant to be push ( for instance she doesn't insist on you getting diagnosed with anything, she accompanies you) but she does insist and put her feet down when she believes you need session, which makes her an amazing therapist. Not a good friend to chat with and that is exactly what I was looking for even in BetterHelp. I really feel she is changing me, my life and I am lucky to have her.
Michelle has helped me to better control my anxiety. She has helped me to try and not compare my problems to other people and focus more on my happiness then the less likely consequences I think of.
She is also very clear with ways I should try and improve myself, like slowly building up my courage to talk to my family about what I am going through.
I would definitely recommend Michelle to a friend or family member.
Michelle has been so helpful over the past few months whilst I have been going through a big period of change. She is so insightful and very invested in trying to help, I would recommend her to everyone!
When I first reached out to Michelle, I didn't even know where to start. I had never had therapy, but Michelle helped me to put all the pieces together. As a busy working professional and a single mom, it was hard for me to ask for help.
Michelle is an intuitive and compassionate therapist. She has a wonderfully personable manner which makes it easy to talk to her and to relay my deepest concerns, worries and insecurities. My work with Michelle has made me more self aware and also equipped me with the tools I need to live a more fulfilling life and to let go of past hurts and disappointments. She has also taught me practical day to day life skills/coping mechanisms. I would highly recommend.
It has only been a few sessions but Michelle has really taken her time to explain things to me that I would have never knew that I was doing and why it was happening in the first place.
I would be happy to recommend Michelle to anyone. she listened, understood my concerns and responded in a way that made complete sense to me. She was there when I needed her and for that I am most grateful.
Michelle has been crucial to helping me balance the ebbs and flow of life through getting engaged, making space for new family, processing my own family, and developing awareness of my inner processes.
My experience with online counseling and Michelle Solo in particular is strongly positive!!! Thanks for everything!
It’s been only a few weeks and she has helped me a lot . I have broken through my wall and I feel as if I can walk in peace. Looking forward to this continuous counsel!
Michelle has been a great help in understand and processing my history of trauma and abuse. Her messages are always thoughtful & meaningful, and it really shows that she is a genuinely good person who cares about the people she works with.
The messaging and live sessions have massively exceeded my expectations. Michelle has been very on point during our counseling and I feel like I've made some progress even in the short period I've been doing this.
Michelle is well-qualified and does a great job of getting to the heart of my issues even if I am still confused on what they are. I am feeling better emotionally than I have in years!!! I am so grateful for Michelle.
Michelle has been guiding me over the past few months and has deeply helped me work through my traumas and assisted in preparing for my future. She is a rock, a warm and wonderful person and someone that I feel so happy to have connected with! I'd recommend her to anyone.
She replies in a timely manner and was able to identify my problems and help me through them.
Michelle is the second counsellor I have had since joining Better Help and I feel she really listens to my specific situation and tries very hard to make sure she understands what my goals are and what my concerns are, and works with me to address them. I have confidence in her advice and expertise, and despite a huge time difference she makes her schedule to accommodate me, which I really appreciate.
I highly recommend Michelle. She tries very hard to find a time that fits both of our schedules and fits me in even last minute. She is patient and has a calm demeanor that makes her easy to speak with.
Michelle is a wonderful, compassionate, and emotionally intelligent counselor. She picks up on patterns of behavior and thinking that no one else has ever been able to point out to me, and she sets achievable and realistic goals. I would recommend her to anyone.
It has been extremely therapeutic talking with Michelle. She has shared insights that I’ve never thought of before and has helped me tremendously. I feel like I’m able to finally take some steps forward in my life and (possibly) make some significant changes. Thank you, Michelle!
