Hello! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and have been licensed with the state of Texas for over 15 years. I have had my own Private Practice for the past 14 years. My entire career has been focused on working with individuals and families as they work through significant life changes and challenges. My approach to therapy tends to be Client-Centered. This means you will play a very active part in directing the sessions and we will work together to set goals. Although I have extensive experience in working with children, teens and families, I feel working individually with adults and teens may be the best use of my skills on this platform.

Helped me get through grieving from my moms passing and also helped me to get out of a toxic relationship. Michelle helped me talk through some tough stuff and I would definitely come back in the future if needed.

I was very anxious starting out counselling as I've never done counselling before. But Michelle has been amazing and super helpful! She is an amazing listener and helps me to look at things in a different perspective. She is caring whilst still being straight forward and not sugar coating things which I appreciate. She has provided me a lot of wise advices that has given me clarity on very hard days and I am grateful for it. She helps me to recognise my own patterns and behaviours that I don't normally see and helps me to be more self aware. Highly recommended! :) thank you for everything Michelle!

I have never been to therapy in my life, and minutes before my first session I was very nervous. I had a good feeling about Michelle Tarbell after reading the reviews and her bio, and I can now tell you that she would be the first person I recommend. She is very respectful about anything you tell her, she can help you come up with amazing strategies for whatever plans you have, and she has a lot of wisdom to share. It can be scary trying therapy for the first time, but it takes a good counselor to help you realize it's not so bad. Thank you Michelle!

The past one month of counselling with Michelle has been nothing but great. She is a friendly and approachable person and a great listener too. This is my first time being so open to someone after bottling up my emotions for the past years. Though we live in completely different continents, we have managed to work out a timing. Talking with Michelle has given me a push to get a referral to a psychiatrist and get medications that I may need. I will be stopping my betterhelp sessions with Michelle when since I’m seeing my psychiatrist and psychologist soon.

Michelle is a wonderful and kind soul who has been the first therapist out of a life time of seeing different doctors and taking so much medication - she is the first therapist where I can say has helped me make progress. I have a long way to go, but I’m grateful Michelle will be the one to guide me.

Michelle has been instrumental in my healing after separating from my ex-partner. She has been a great listener, attentive, non-judgemental, kind and compassionate. She knows what I need for my own healing, and she has been supportive and sensible. I would recommend her to anyone! =)

Michelle has been extremely helpful. She makes it easy for me to get things off my chest. She never makes me feel like i’m crazy after sharing what I’m going through or went through. When I’m having a bad day she can turn it into a good day. She listens well and gives honest feedback. I would highly recommend Michelle to anyone who has a lot on their mind.

I was really happy with my therapy session experiences with Michelle. It was actually my first time doing therapy and I live across the world from her and it perfectly worked! She has made me realize and think about stuff in a way that I have never did. She listened to me and supported me so much.
