Do you ever feel like the world is passing you by and you feel stuck and can't seem to navigate your way out? Or, do you ever feel like your mind is racing with thoughts you can't turn off?" You're not alone! Many of us feel stuck in our thoughts and feelings and have difficulty finding our way back to peace. These thoughts and feelings can have a negative impact on you and your loved ones. This may feel impossible, however, I believe you have everything you need to find your way back to peace!
I am passionate about encouraging clients to find the inner strength they need to overcome life's challenges and am currently able to see new clients within two weeks. My areas of interest include working with survivors of sexual abuse and trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss for all populations. I am trained in EMDR, a powerful tool to help those suffering from PTSD or other trauma find the peace and rest they have been searching for. I also offer Spiritual counseling for those who would like to integrate their faith into the counseling process.
Person Centered Therapy is used in the beginning of our time together so that a safe and confidential rapport is build. Clients need to know they are safe to be vulnerable. Cognitive behavioral therapy is used as well to help client understand how their thoughts, feelings, and beliefs affect their functionality. I also use Acceptance Commitment Therapy as a way for clients to realize "This is where you are at" and help them "own" their feelings and them move forward to more peace and rest. Eye Movement Desensitization is used as a tool to help desensitize traumatic memories in an effective way. Mindfulness and gratitude exercises are given to clients as homework after their first session as a way to begin to help clients stay present in the moment and be self-aware of what is happening internally.

Nancy is very knowledgable and very easy to talk with. I have not worked with her long, but she is providing me with the tools I need to move forward.
Nancy is an excellent counselor and person! She is kind, personable, and always willing to listen. She helped me through many of my anxiety issues, and also related to me on a personal level. I really feel like I have learned valuable skills and concrete methods in assessing my own mental thought patterns all thanks to Nancy. I would highly recommend to anyone who is looking into counseling
