Natasha Mata

(M.S., LMHC)

About Me

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and I have been working in the mental health field since 2016. I have counseling experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings, and my main experience is helping clients struggling with addictions, trauma, depression, anxiety, and grief/loss. I also enjoy helping clients find inner peace, spirituality, personal growth, and life balance.

I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship built on trust, empathy, and respect. I also believe in the healing power of humor when appropriate, and the deep caring and concern when discussing those issues that present as deep inner wounds. I draw upon techniques in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, and experiential therapy modalities.

The messages we take from our life experiences impact how we relate to one another and our own beliefs and feelings about ourselves. Helping others heal from self-defeating beliefs is my passion and goal as a therapist. I believe it is an immense gift and right we have as human beings to speak about our experiences and feelings with another individual and to get support for doing so.

I have had a few sessions with Natasha and she has been wonderful! She has already helped me identify my feelings and provided me with great guidance and tools to support me in my goal of increasing my self-esteem. I enjoy talking with her and she makes me feel very uncomfortable. I look forward to our future sessions!
