Hello! I'd like to thank you for coming to my page and also formally introduce myself; my name is Nicole Filian and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a person who is passionate about being a listener and a helper. I believe it is my life’s mission to provide support and empathy to those who are in need of it. I'd like to help you to find the strength you innately possess within yourself and expand upon it. Life can be challenging to navigate when feeling overwhelmed or confused. Therapy can be seen as a lighthouse, helping to guide you through challenges and adversities, and bringing you through the "storm". I have been in the social work field for ten years, and have been providing clinical counseling for three years. I began my journey at Montclair State University, receiving my undergraduate Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, with a minor in human services and counseling. I continued my educational path at Fordham University, where I obtained my Masters of Social Work degree. I have helped families with therapeutic modalities such as family therapy, individual therapy, behavioral modification, parenting skills, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Adoption therapy (PACS), grief support, and Anger Management.
I am knowledgeable and experienced regarding the child welfare system. I have also helped clients with diagnoses related to anxiety, depression, infertility, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and other facets of mental health. My goal for treatment with each individual that I serve is to provide a sense of personalization over the goals that are desired. I will also provide the individuals I serve with unconditional positive regard and respect. I hope that you choose my services, and can begin this important life-changing work together.

Nicole is a wonderful therapist. When I started counselling, I was too depressed, sad, confused. I felt worthless and was self doubting. I was blaming myself for so many things which weren’t in my control. She made me understand my self worth and planted the seed of self-love. She always stood by me in thick and thin and ensured that I feel better, validated my thought process, introduced me to so many concepts of healing process. I am not there yet, but I am glad at least I am in the right direction. I would like to add, Nicole always responded to me on time. Her replies are so apt and elaborative and reading them always made me feel better and regain my sanity. I would like to thank you Nicole for being there with me in this difficult phase of my life. I am sure it shall pass. :)
Confused and lost I knew I had the answers but had not been able to clear my thoughts. Nicole gave me directions to follow my thoughts and I found clarity. I came in a babbling fool but somehow she found stability at the core of my problems that proved quite helpful for me to stand strong for me & my family. Thanks Drill Sargent Nicole it was your direction that made my path in life regress a little to gain so much more freedom!
Nicole is amazing!
It’s been a difficult road of recovery for me. I’ve had doubts and fears but Nicole has been reassuring that I’ll be myself again. She’s taken the chance to get to know me and is optimistic. Having someone listen and give me strategies has been helpful on my road to getting my life back.
