Rachel Ferguson

About Me

Hi, my name is Rachel Ferguson and I am a licensed mental health counselor in Illinois and Florida. I have 10+ years experience in providing counseling to adults with a variety of mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, bipolar, and trauma. I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

I am here to listen to you and provide you with some tools and coping skills to help you overcome and manage the issues you are dealing with. My counseling style is direct and interactive. I want to encourage honesty and hard-work. Therapy takes time, but I believe it can make powerful changes in your life. I use a combination of therapeutic techniques including cognitive-behavioral principles and person-centered therapy. I will develop a treatment plan based on your unique needs and presentation.

Taking the first step in treatment is sometimes the most difficult. I am glad to be a part of your journey and look forward to working with you.

I completely enjoy and love Rachel Ferguson, she has been there for me and has totally responded in a timely manner. I feel complete speaking to her, and she has helped me with my issues. Everyone is different, however in my case Rachel is an awesome counselor. I hope she can be of help to others in difficult situations!

Rachel Ferguson is amazing and in my opinion I don't think that word is good enough to describe her as a therapist. In the short time I have been working with her she has helped me an awful lot with a wide range of issues. She is direct but supportive. She really goes the extra mile to help. She is a terrific professional.

Rachel has been a strong figure of support, caring and insight. Not only does she reframe your thoughts and gently guide you on a path to healthier choices, she’s also firm, kind and encouraging. I found her to be patient and warm but also objective and wise. She always encourages you to take action—not just talk about your struggles, because you have to do the hard work yourself and meet her halfway. If you’re willing to do that, you will find a steady, supportive and committed counsellor in Rachel. I highly recommend her to anybody looking to seriously change their thought patterns, habits and behaviours that don’t serve you anymore. But you have to be willing to follow her guidance. I’ve grown so much with her help and have found much more peace than before. I’d like to credit her support for that.

Rachel has been my counselor for a few weeks now and my tedious search was totally worth it. She's communicative, accessible and goes the extra mile to help me move forward with my goals. She helps tackle issues such as anxiety and assertiveness via worksheets and goal timelines. She offers insights on how I can deal with challenging relationships with friends and family. I would highly recommend her.

Rachel has been so supportive! She mentioned in her profile that she was direct, which is definitely what I need in counseling, and she is direct but kind and supportive. She validates my anxieties and suggests ways to alleviate them. She pushes me to challenge myself and congratulates me on a job well done. I enjoy working with her through my issues. Thank you Rachel!
