About Me

Congratulations on taking the first step toward a more fulfilling and engaged life. Therapy offers the individual the opportunity to take back control of their life and direct their own future. Taking an authentic and non-judgmental stance, I meet the client where they're at in order to help them achieve the life they seek. I believe that therapy offers the individual a safe space to share their personal struggles and work on ways to resolve daily and sustained difficulties. My approach incorporates aspects of Psychodynamic, Narrative and Cognitive Behavioral Therapies.

I have over seven years of experience working with individuals struggling with addictions and other mental health conditions, such as depression, anxiety, trauma, and career issues. I have also been a graduate school professor for the past 5 years. I believe in the value of both harm reduction and abstinence models when working with addiction. I also specialize in vocational and career counseling and can help you take the first steps toward healthy career development, resolve frustrations within your current situation or reach new heights in your work life. My varied experience in both clinical and academic settings gives me a unique perspective on the frustrations that many people face and some creative tools to move past those frustrations.

Therapy is a collaborative approach that requires both parties to be invested and present. I believe in the importance of empowering, rather than simply instructing, and guiding the individual to see their own path. I will challenge you to examine discrepancies between your current life and the one you would like to lead and make the changes necessary to find happiness, balance and authenticity. I am a big believer in the fact that everyone deserves to find meaning and fulfillment in their lives and that through creative, purposeful work, those goals are attainable. Lets move past what you "should" be doing and arrive at what you really want.
