I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Florida. I earned both a Bachelors degree in Psychology, followed by a Masters in Science of Education with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Miami. Currently, I am pursuing my Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy at Nova Southeastern University, where I maintain a 4.0 GPA. I have been working with couples and adult individuals in private practice for over 8 years, and I have experience running anger management and domestic violence group therapy in a clinic setting. I specialize in relationship issues including infidelity, couples counseling, premarital counseling, marriage counseling, divorce, and post-divorce issues, and I treat clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, stress, anxiety, phobias, anger management, and low self-esteem.
I am also a Certified Hypnotherapist. Hypnotherapy is a wonderful tool that can be used for an array of issues including weight loss, smoking cessation, stress reduction, pain management, phobias, mending a broken heart, test anxiety and so much more. It is also very effective in helping clients learn relaxation and breathing techniques.
I work with my clients using a warm, direct, and eclectic approach by drawing from many different theoretical orientations such as cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, Gottman methods, and humanistic counseling. It is very important to me to collaborate with my clients on creating goals, and I tailor my method of treatment to each individual and couple. It is my ultimate goal to make each of my clients as comfortable as possible, so that he or she can feel at safe and at ease, and we can get great work done together.
