About me

Hi there! My name is Rachel and I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Pennsylvania. In 2015, I earned a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Duquesne University and earned my license to practice professionally in 2017. I have over 5 years in the mental health field with experience working with folks managing a whole wide range of mental health concerns but a few examples are depression, anxiety, grief, life transitions, and trauma.

My counseling style is affirming and individualized. I primarily identify as a person centered therapist - which means what it sounds like - the treatment is centered on you! I believe that you are the expert of your own life and a valued collaborator in the therapeutic process. I enjoy taking the time to get to know my clients, their stories, and their strengths so that we can work together to explore what has happened in your life and discover how you can best move forward and grow into your potential. I also have training and experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which examines how your thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and actions are all connected. If appropriate and you're interested, I may utilize some CBT exercises to drive our work further.

I am here to empower and support you. Thank you for considering me to walk with you on your journey. Hope to hear from you soon!

Rachel is very supportive, and very easy to talk to. She is a great listener and has a lot of wonderful analogies to help breakdown complex information. I look forward to speaking with her each week.
